cool runnings….like it.
Got to say that I agree. Its one thing having one of the best prospects in football managment in Roberto BUT surely this talent needs to be supported and nutured by a back room team with experience at the highest of levels. I have lots and lots of respect for Graham Barrow and for the great contribution of Graham Jones back in the day, but do these guys have the knowledge required now? I hope so.
Also – where’s the atmosphere at man u? There fans are terrible. We used to take more than that to Bury. Might take up supporting a bob slay team instead.
I’m taking up fishing
“Melchiot – Out – 500k or Free – Past it and offers nothing defensively” ……………
What?
We are Wigan. Not Man Utd. Some people are in dreamland.
what can you say after that result?….not much. next week is massive if we are to avoid a slide.
By the way, regarding the “nice one Whelan” comment …what planet are some are supporters *on?
*term used loosely
Paul Jewell – LATICS LEGEND – they should put a statue of him outside the JJB.
There’s a lot of people with some strange views on this site (I know we are all entitled to them, but c’mon). Someone was having a go at Mario Melchiot the other day??????????????
Mr Logic
If you aren’t satsified with a stupendos 3-1 win over the leaders Chelsea, you may as well just forget the whole thing.
Flew via Paris – although there are direct flights from London. Flights arent cheap though – £500 – 800 return although I expect you might get them cheaper if you book well ahead?? Buenos Aries itself is quite European – reminded me of Paris. I think most of the people are of Spanish/Portugese/Italian descent. They like to party and don’t go out until 10 or 11pm.
They also love their football. Buenos Aries has the highest concentration of professional football teams of any city in the world at 24. Recommend it.
River Plate was 30 argentinian pesos – so about £5. There was lots of talk about it being a bit ‘dodge’ but in reality it was no problem (although River Plate v Boca might be different). My view is if you have been to wigan v stoke v burnley etc. etc. you are pretty wised up anyway.
There’s lots of talk about it being hard to get to tickets – its not a problem for most matches. We got them from the ticket office an hour before.
I went to Boca’s ground to have a look around – best football ground Ive ever been to. Proper tight ground which is largely standing. (apparently it was going to be round but they ran out of money, built it as a semi circle and then turned the pitch around to squeeze it in!)
As for the Argentinians – they are big in to English Premier league. You get the impression they are especially keen to follow the South Americans playing the Prem so they know all about Wigan. As for the Falklands…we might have forgotten about those islands but they haven’t. That said, there was no problem with the English as far as I could see. O’ and the steaks are double good.
billllly boston.
He is one classy footballer and an all round good egg.
Any Latics fan calling him is watching the wrong game.
Agree with silence and the shadows thoughts except for his comment “God only knows how we lost to Wolves” – we were terrible and deserved to be docked three points that night.
I will be giving Martinez my 100 % support. If we end up in the Championship – so what – I’d rather have took the gamble and lost than limped along for the next few seasons.
Up the footballing revolution.
viva espania. :(
o’ and we need to play two up front.
Well said Mr Garswood. I’m with you. Lets clear this website of the riff raff.
well said tini
Whelan to make way for whom exactly?????
I hear Bill Kenyon is doing alright these days. Or maybe there’s a rich shake looking to buy the sleeping giant that is WAFC?
KEEP THE FAITH. REMEMBER CANVEY ISLAND?
Keep the faith people. It’s only been a flamin week!!
Clearly we need to change things – maybe sacrifice the flowing football for some more direct and physical play – BUT let’s give him the chance to change it. 7 days is a bit early to right anyone off (even in the prem).
I was embarrassed at some of our fans lambasting of Valancia. No suprise he upped his game and put teh cross in for there first goal.
ps
sort codes and pin numbers anyone?
