Spitting? YUK!! But lets not forget the West Ham guy who spat at – was it Dunkley – less was said about that. Why????
Keep it i proportion.
The playing of the music was very little different from 15000 people singing ‘Will Griggs on Fire” several times. It was light hearted banter and trivial Why did we all sing the song? Why do we sing ‘we beat Man City With a Watson goal’..’cos its fun and to provoke. Just like they were trying to provoke us. Let’s just imagine what would have happened if they’d scored!!!
It’s all fine. It’s all ok!! We had a great night, and another stack of great memories where no harm was done1
I just think this is being blown out of all proportion.
A pitch invasion on such an occasion was always going to happen, especially after the result. It was inevitable.
In actual fact it was pretty harmless. Remember the days when the turf got dug up, the goal post got wrecked and more.
Yes, as an ESPN pundit said ‘this is the players workplace, so they should be safe’. Of course that’s correct, but the reality is that in such a situation the safest place for them all at that time is in the changing room. By that stage of the evening Aguero shouldn’t have been on the pitch. He was kinda taunting trouble. It was as if he was looking for a fight after his disappointment. Pep was in the changing room; he and a lot of the City players had scarpered quickly.
Leave it; forget about it; don’t let it cloud a great evening; Aguero was wrong to be there, as was the Wigan lad, the latter’s presence was inevitable. Let him enjoy the moment, as we all did in our own way.
A tremendous night for all Latics fans, prior to last night I had the quarter final win at City in 2014 the greatest cup win we have ever had, we were second tier at the time, at their place and they were going to give us a footballing lesson in revenge for our cup final win.Last night puts the 2014 game into the shade we are third tier and lets not make any bones about it, this City team are probably the best football team in the world at the moment and little Wigan beat them.
OK they had loads of possession but that was are game plan let them have the ball out wide and stop them playing throw the middle.
A game we will be talking about for decades and quite rightly so.
Brilliant little Wigan.
It was an amazing night. Stat man … has any team ever won a game with 17% possession. But who cares ……… there is only one stat that counts!
Finished 1-1Dropped 2 points at home; lets hope they drop more at Charlton on Saturday !
Thanks for hanging on Gillingham … must have been watching Wigan last night to see how to ‘hang in there’.
Knackered? Absolutely blinkin’ exhausted!! Where were you last night …. didn’t see you, thought you’d bottled out!!
In my season ticket seat in the West Stand where I am for every game bar the minor cup matches.
I didn’t see you either, but then again, I don’t know who you are, so I may have seen you and just didn’t know.
If you know me, who are you, give me a clue, make yourself known!!!
hahahaha!! I now haven’taclue who you are, and I always thought I did. No wonder I didn’t see you. I’m in ES7. I thought you were a guy who sits 3 rows in front of me and complains when he doesn’t get a cup of mulled wine!!
We have no replacement for Morsy. Simple as that.
Perks had a pretty good shot at it in the end. We even rested Jacobs and James for the game and that didn’t cause us any harm.
Bring on The Saints.
Still buzzing and cant wait for Rochdale who will have a Wembley trip on their minds. Fingers crossed for them in their replay.
Perkins was brilliant. Gnawed away at them tirelessly all evening. Made 1 duff pass near the end and made efforts to correct it straight away. Poor guy was knackered.
It’d be interesting to see how far each player ran last night.
If Monday was Rochdale, Hull, Coventry, Sheffield Utd etc I would strongly disagree but since it isn’t I totally agree with your selection.
Funny how the draw didn’t place any clubs out of the greed league together. No teams in the greed league together because it is fixed. That is also evident in the refs performance last night. Those last 4 mins – errr – 7 mins et – he was hoping and helping them to score.
Knackered? Absolutely blinkin’ exhausted!! Where were you last night …. didn’t see you, thought you’d bottled out!!
You have to say at least the West Ham fans have a sense of humour and give credit when it’s due. City fans attitudes have come full circle from when they where struggling.Quite. It was wonderful when West Ham sang “How shit must your be, you’re only winning 2 – 0”. Wonderful.
On MOTD last night, Lineker called us ‘Wigan Town’.None of it matters.
What is MOST important is WE know who we are!
The MIGHTY ‘TICS
All valid points, but don’t be pissed off, it’ll spoil the wonderful and brilliant memories of a generally positive night. For me the ‘good’ far out weighs the last 5 –
10 minutes. Being pissed off is just wrecking it for your self.Aguero incident – he knows the vulnerable position he is in, or at least he should do; he should have scarpered off the pitch at great speed, like many of the other players. In some positions of society the reality is that you will get provoked, and it is that persons job not to rise to that provocation. Blimey – imagine the fights there would be if the police reacted every time they were provoked. What do refs get every match ….. 10 000 people shouting at them ‘you fat bastard’, ‘you’re not fit to referee’, ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’, ‘wanker’ and more and worse.
DFF. Daily F****ing FAIL. Shockingly bad at every level of ‘journalism’.
It was a fantastic night, and I’m still mulling over whether The Cup Final was better or last night. So I’ll go equal tops. The only time I can remember such a vibrant atmosphere was against Newcastle, 4 – 0.
My 2 big Wigan regrets are not coming to beating Manure, and Arsenal 3 – 2. But I think last night makes up for that.
Anxious, exciting, finger nail biting, emotional, exuberant, happy, worried, resigned, ecstatic, disbelief ….. how many more emotions can you get in 90 minutes, with no respite. I’m exhaussted!
This is disappointing to read. My memories of Citeh fans before and after both our last cup games was how good they were. How much fun they were and how honourable they were in defeat.
