In an attempt to “get down wiv the kids” I have rebelled and NEVER use full stops at the end of paragraphs on message boards. How radical am I?
As for the question mark, I was merely making a statement. If I had added a comma and the words “do you” at the end, then a question mark would have been in order.
Anyway, leave me alone – I’m a published author, don’t you know?

Be careful, you don’t want kebab on your keyboard
just heard him on radio as i drove home.
reporter-what do you think steve about dave whelans comments on the bad signings you made at wigan
bruce-i,ll be having words with him then saturday i hope i bump into him if he dosent want zoggie and rodders i will gladly take them. :xThen did he keel over, short of breath due to lack of punctuation ;)
Oh i know, im expecting that Williamson fella from Swansea and probably a couple of Faroe Island type players who cost about £50,000 each and probably try and tempt Dean Windas out of retirement for a swansong but those names i mentioned are all realistic i reckon. The ones who are not realistic, of course, being Dos Santos, Dawson, Collocini, Shorey, Hutton and McGeady at least.
So, let’s roll out the welcome mat for Huddersfield’s keeper :?
I would certianly try to get most of them in. or at least some stability. I was more thinking getting shut of the wasters in the summerWell, I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for 9 new faces in January, and I most definitely wouldn’t hold it waiting for some of the specific names on your list.
The media have built Kirkland up to be this sleeping England giant in the waiting, Someone like Burnley or maybe Sunderland would shell out 3m no hesitation.Okay off the top of my head with 30m i will have a go. I don’t scout players for months on end obviously because im not a football manager, However i consider myself to have a lot of knowledge when it comes to football and i think i could build up a half decent squad with 30m so here we go.
Goalkeeper – Carlos Kameni – Espanyol – Available for free in the summer i believe so get in there for him now, Very good at shot stopping and very athletic.
Goalkeeper No.2 – Alex Smithies – Huddersfield – around 500k/1m probably – 19 years old and has burst onto the scene in the last couple of seasons, Seen a lot of him and every time i do im impressed. Commands his area and Defenders superbly for a young lad.
Left Back – Would like to say Gareth Bale but will be too pricey so…
Nicky Shorey – Aston Villa – around 2m – Out of favour and an England international, Must admit i wasn’t too keen in Reading’s first season but won me over.Right Back – Alan Hutton – Tottenham 3/4m – Signed from Rangers a couple of seasons back for 9m, Isn’t going to get in for Corluka and they would most likely sell. Excellent at both going forward and supporting the Defence.
Centre Back – First one i would have a go for would be Michael Dawson – Tottenham – 4/5m. Good experience for a 26 year old lad, Been in and out of the side for a couple of seasons and needs regular football week in week out.
Centre Back – Fabricio Coloccini – Newcastle – 5m, Vast experience in Europe and International foorball, Musty be itching to get back in the big league and i dont think Mike Ashley would turn down 5m.
Right Winger – Aiden McGeady – Celtic – 6m – Hightly rated and highly skillful and quick. Has the attributes to take the Premiership by the scruff of the neck and is desperate to play in the big league with murmours of a rift at Celtic and their debt it could be a can go situation.
Attacking Midfielder/Striker – The Problem Position, We arent really sure whether Martinez wants a striker or a very attacking midfielder so i will add my own interpretation.
Bojan – Barcelona – Loan, Apparently was near to joining Blackburn on a season long loan so maybe available…….. If not
Giovanni Dos Santos – Tottenham – 3/4m, Signed as one of the most promising players in the world then somehow ended up self destructing and going out for a succesful loan at Ipswich. Exciting young player and probably one of the best bargains around.Thats around 25m and a team that looks a hell of a lot better on paper than our current one. It would go
………………………………..Kameni………………………………
Hutton…………….Dawson……………Colocinni………….Shorey
……………………….Thomas………..Diame……………………….
…………McGeady…………………………………….N’Zogbia……..
……………………….Dos Santos……………………………………..
…………………………………….Rodallega…………………………..
A very achievable team and a much better one than we have now. It’s not bad for starters. Then build and build and build on it again over time.
…………………………….Just the 9 players to be found in the transfer window then and around 13 to ship out.
That’ll keep Stuart and Brenda busy after Christmas, then
All are welcome on Mudhuts, but not all will stay. Some will leave of their own accord, some will be run off the board. There are no apologies for that. If you’re good enough, you’ll be accepted readily.
Although I know what you mean, Migs, and agree that it is this policy that makes Mudhuts a generally more high brow site than CL, you have to concede that the quote above can leave you open to allegations of elitism.
You’re quite right of course, griff, it does. However, whereas Jimmy – as he stated in his own post – is far from elitist, I do not subscribe to such lowly opinions ;)
Anyhoo, I think 2 posts is enough from me for now.
Quite right too, now scuttle off back where you belong
Just not meant to be :)
It was Joey Hinnigan
He would be a fantastic addition at Wigan in some capacity.Perhaps he was our best never left-back.
Or am I mixing him up with Ian Harte? :?
You stood to win £135,219.87p on a 14 match accumalator from a £2.75 stake yet 2 of your games were Villa/Burnley & Hull/West Ham?????
If that’s true, me & the missus need to change bookmakersI don’t do the long accumulators (prefer to stick to 5 or 6 games where I win less but more often) but she won £2,500 on a 10 game accumulator last season on Bet Fred’s bonus section. If the only 2 you lost on were relatively low odds like those 2 games then you must either have had some real long shots in there, are talking bull or William Hill are very generous!!
[turns calculator off]
I was thinking that myself, but my maffs isn’t strong enough to work it out.
Best I ever did was a 10 match accumulator returning £1035 for a £1 stake (last of the big spenders, eh?). Cup semi final weekend 1996, my 3rd ever go at the fixed odds. Never won jack since.
I am guessing that you didn’t email him then, or used the wrong email? He says he received nowt from you..Maybe I used the wrong address, lost when I swapped over machines probably. It’s certainly not like Stuart to not reply, I just assumed he was in hiding, er on holiday!
Anyway, after all that, I can’t go tonight now
Why post that on here? Post it on MHM and give them the chance to respond
I got rid because it is not a very nice comment and I can’t see how he would have typed it even in jest… anyway it isn’t something to put on a board, it was just wrong…Not sure what has gone on here, but I’m guessing it is my comment that has caused offence.
If so, I apologise profusely, because that was certainly not the intention. I accept that black humour doesn’t always work, especially on a message forum like this. I am equally sure that those who know me – both personally and on here – are aware that I would be mortified if I had genuinely upset somebody with a misjudged comment.
Sorry.
it made me think though griff when i saw my old man on his death bed? i was estranged from him and i had not seen him for 10 years.the cancer ward in blackpool victoria was something i do not want to ever go back to.you remember your father and then you see him on his death bed and he looks nothing like how you knew him? cancer wards are horrible places and any one who as a family member in them and they visit them then my heart goes out to them! They certainly are my mother volunteers in the hospice.
