Thanks, Phil.
That’s the kind of imaginative post that we need if we’re going to get anywhere near 1,000.
Hurry folks, post your foolishness here while the thread is still open!
They don’t like it up em Mr Mainwaring! :P The reds are the talk of the town again and normality has been resumed thanks to Brendan Rodgers the best young manager in the Premier League! ;)
Why do you care?
I can understand me, as a self-confessed, outed, Man United fan being intereted in another club’s fortunes, but why are you so concerned about who is the best manager in Liverpool?
I’m not in favour of locking an inoffensive thread just because some people don’t like it.If, for some reason, it doesn’t appeal to some people, then they have a remedy in their own hands – don’t look at it.
This is a forum. If posters wish to contribute to it, then you should let them. Who knows, they may find something new to say.
And the original poster – Alasdair – has already shown his willingness to continue the debate in the new season.
You just want it to get to 1000 posts ;)
I agree though, let it continue. It’s been an amusing debate. If people aren’t at all interested, they can just ignore it.
Supporting Wigan is a fine line between elation and despair; balancing hope against reality. It’s never been easy.
Sometimes, I wish I was still a United fan
Brilliant pal. Very well done.Am I detecting a bit of sarcasm, there
Far too many big words in it for you, cock
What thread?
spanish judas tvvat.
are you serious pal?
If so, would you call our manager something similar?
or any other manager who moves to better himself?
surely this is what life is about, bettering yourself.
flat method.
I fully agree with you John about Martinez moving on to better and bigger things, can I ask the so called “in the know ones within the inner circle” on here when it comes to such things why was Bruce not offered the same goodwill by them.
I, for one, never wished Steve Bruce any ill-will for moving on. I was quite pleased he did, I’ve only just got rid of the crick in my next from wathcing his shite football.
That tooth must have been loose to begin with.
I’ve nicked the OPs picture for my blog, by the way – thanks!
No keep it going, its going to be a long summer (if it ever arrives) and we need entertaining till pre-season.
GRAZIE.
There’s that about it
You won’t get any more from me. I’ve said all I wanted to say.
I may have to post a picture of the page in the dictionary that contains the defintion to the phrase “I really am not arsed any more what you have to say to me” (or whatever the word for that is) if people continue to confuse me with someone who is.
Actually, you can delete the thread completely for me, I’m totally done with it.
Before you go off the radar, please explain to everyone what caused your outrage in the first place, I am sure they would love to know.
I’m tempted not to explain, mainly because the Admins have asked us to desist and also because I am 100% certain that no-one on here “would love to know” at all. But, if it will finally shut you up and make you go away, then I’ll try to explain it in words you might understand.
You are clearly very pleased with yourself and think it was something to do with the fact that you had ‘outed’ me about going to a handful of Man United games as an 8-year old kid. It really wasn’t. Why would that bother me? It’s a matter of public record. Anybody who has read that book (not many, granted) knows I have always had a soft spot for Man United (and also Wigan rugby, by the way). Also, all my friends already know that because, guess what?… THEY’RE MY FRIENDS and they have known me for years and years!
You’re not one of those friends, and I guarantee you that none of them were remotely interested in you bringing your pathetic, inferiority-complex “Griff doctrine” and “bully” nonsensical ramblings and accusations to our Facebook discussions. That is why I removed you. I didn’t want you part of our conversation. If me and my friends were having that conversation in a pub, you wouldn’t be invited to join it. I treat my Facebook space like my virtual pub.
In fact, the above isn’t strictly true… two of my friends were remotely interested in what you had to say… both of them sent me a FB message to ask along the lines of “who the f*** was that knobhead and why was he raving on about Man United”.
Now, I have humoured you and explained to you why I got annoyed as you have requested (though I don’t know why you care, nobody else does) and it really wasn’t the reason you thought, was it? So now, as the Admin have asked, let’s make that the end of it. I decided to reply against my better judgement, and only because I didn’t want to sit in traffic on the M60 at this time of day. That traffic will have cleared now and so I’m off home.
And seriously, I mean it. Don’t bother replying. You asked me to explain why I got annoyed and I have. If my answer doesn’t satisfy you… well, frankly, I’m not arsed and neither is anyone else.
Admins – do us all a favour please and lock and/or remove the thread.
It’s apparently a condition of the loan contract taken out this season.Martinez insists he is hopeful of signing Barry on a permanent deal but realises his club are at a disadvantage because of a clause written into the loan agreement when the 33-year-old joined them last August.
It states that City will be due the backdated fee if he does complete the move to Everton.
Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham, who are also interested, would not have to pay the Premier League title favourites anything, meaning they can offer Barry much better personal terms.
Fair enough, it’s a new one one me

Griff I’ve never thought Gomez was shit or will I ever boo any Wigan team. Gomez has been inconsistent while at WAFC. When in the Pr em GC was often slated by many fans for one reason or another . Open to be proved wrong but for me he ain’t good enough.I suspect that, as with most things, there is too much black and white and not enough grey when assessing the worth of players. Still, it’s all about opinions. Everyone’s entitled to one, despite what some may think.
End of season report on BBC website ……Ten things we learned from 2013/14 season.
No 8 is a good one.
That can’t be right, the Cockney Latic Brains Trust says otherwise
Not saying McArthur won’t go to em but £2.5mill is not beyond the budget of Everton if that is the asking price
If Everton sign Barry, under the terms of the loan contract, they will have to pay City £2.5 million, which they could indeed afford.
But if another club signs Barry, it will be on a free transfer, in which case Barry will be likely to get the £2.5 million himself in higher wages.
So, although he has had a good season, Barry is likely to be attracted to another club. McArthur is obviously a possible replacement.
How does that work if he is out of contract at the end of the season? I can understand Everton paying a loan fee while he was there but why would Everton agree to pay £2.5m when he will be a free agent? Not saying it’s wrong, but it seems a strange arrangement.
gomez last two games didnt really look interested just pottering about the field
way too slow
my opinion off him wont change so i wont miss him or boozerjoeYou’re either on the wind up Bicky, or really not worth listening to ;)
