Just wondering what the criteria for being a proper fan was. Just because Filmoss didn’t go back in the day does not make him any less a fan. We as a club need to increase our fan base and newer fans JCL’s should be encouraged. Or would you rather we went back to 2300 proper fans who saw the really bad times blah blah blah???

He will realise one day that his opinion doesn’t count for much with the proper supporters, however many times he repeats them

        Proper supporters???

This post typifies the blind ,foundation-less faith some posters have in Bob the winless.Actually getting wood because we’ve managed to climb 1 place due to hapless Wolves getting tonked.Don’t forget Utd are heading to a town near us soon, and a 0-0 is best we can hope for with this bunch of toothless pretty boy floyds .

So you call it “blind faith” I’ll call it wanting my team to do well. I don’t think the united game will decide our fate, if you do then your a bigger pilluk than I thought.

All we need to do now is jump 2 more teams, not 3 and we’ll be putting two fingers up to the media, rival fans and unfortunately some of our so called fans.
How anybody, particularly our own fans, can have one ounce of negativity following that performance yesterday is beyond belief. OK we only scored one, but had loads of chances and played some great football in the process. Its not two minutes ago the likes of you and other moaning barstewards on here, was pulling bobby to bits saying his team and formation was creating jack shyte. Now we are creating chances the tune has changed to ” toothless and can’t score”.
Whilst being in this dogfight I and many others have seen the team slowly but surely improve. The tonkings seem to have dried up and the likes of Caldwell and Figs are now looking like seasoned prem players.
The Swansea game apart we have looked more like a mid table team and although we have some stern tests coming up, we also have some what I would label “winnable games”.
          So I’ll offer you two options;

          1) Continue spurting out negativity and look for flaws in every performance.

          or

          2) Start to seriously look at the performances like yesterday and realise that we do look a decent team, get behind them 100% and help push um over the line.

No doubt the DS will come back with the usual rose tinted glasses stuff and Bobby’s bunnies shyte. goodpost
We played very well on Saturday and very well against Norwich and as you say created loads of chances. That’s not always been the case but long may it continue and hopefully someone in our team will find some shooting boots.

But Mr unknown dead body man says stop moaning because we shouldn’t really be in the Prem in the first place and he remembers when all this was fields and you could go on holiday and leave your front door unlocked ! Oh and Goole away !!! He doesn’t realize that there are in excess of 10,000 new fans who have different and more ambitious views than his austere slant on things !!

Maybe some of those 10,000 new fans should take a look at the clubs history, and realise that it isn’t all sweetness and light, that you’ve got to take the good with the bad, that a club goes through highs and lows, and a proper supporter will stick with it throughout and enjoy it because he loves his club. You write off history and the past as if it has no bearing, well it does, it’s a very good predictor of future trends, and there’s bigger clubs with far more history than us plying their trade in the championship, just who the fuck do you think we are, giving it Bertie big bollocks, like we have a god given right to be a top ten premier league club. You talk like you know more about football and management than Bobby himself, and that you care more about the club than he does, but You my friend are a jcl, fair weather fan, and will be one of the first to fuck off when we are mid table in the championship, but never mind, you could always hope Blackpool bounce straight back up and then you can jump on their bandwagon until the wheels come off, then you could go on the Blackpool forum in a few years, calling for holloways head and saying how shit the team is, see what real Blackpool fans think about your opinion then, it’ll be the same as Wigan fans now, fuck all, you boring repetitive prick.
Ok Jimmy Hill who the fuck makes you the font of all footballing knowledge??? Filmoss is as entitled to his opinion as you are to yours no matter how long he has followed us. And just because we had hard times in the past does not make one home win all season acceptable. I support my team but I also have a right to voice my opinion if I believe the manager is not doing his job properly. That my friend is what this message board is for, differing opinions and if you don’t like it don’t read or post.
Another deluded gobshite, just read my posts over and over again, eventually you’ll see that I’m right, that’s how it works isn’t it? Repetition makes it fact? Some people’s opinions are more valid than others, that’s a fact of life, and mine is worth more than yours and fils put together, IMO.
Yes, I find that’s the best approach when responding to complete retards, i used to think that a more reasoned and sympathetic approach was necessary, but then I realised it wasn’t at all, you prick
I try not to get roped in to some of these arguments but today we could have hit loads. We didn’t. So how is that Martinez’s fault?

He picked a team that could (and did) make the chances. He chose a style of play that created the chances.

The fact that the players didn’t convert them is not his fault. And don’t tell me that X, Y or Z would have scored them. We know, with the current pressures on them, they probably would have done no better. The team he picked was one, before the game, that I heard no-one complaining about.

I’m not happy with the results – and very often I am as critical as the next man about the team selections.

But today was NOT the manager’s fault.

Sorry Garswood today was totally the managers fault and I’ll tell you why, he has signed a squad of players that have NO idea how to score goals. The blame lies 100% with Bob.

i think at a lower level we will get more goals as i believe the championship to be more the level of di santo & sammon. however, as i have said in an earlier subject – we are only a couple of decent strikers from being a decent team – not world beaters, just decent. but sadly, decent strikers dont want to come to or we cant afford at wigan.

And if we do uncover a nugget he probably wouldn’t be around long :(

Just got in from the match and put ESPN on to hopefully catch some of the Spurs v Bolton game. The programme that was on was about David Beckhams move to L.A Galaxy, it said the game had been called off. I had no idea that Muamba had been taken seriously ill, my prayers are with him and his family.

Its because Griff they have no ideas to answer (just like Jewell and Bruce) the dilemma that as a club we are punching far above our weight…

However Roberto Martinez has clearly sat down and put in place the sort of long term plans that can allow us to compete with teams that make more revenue in pie sales than we do in gate receipts.

Currently we have had two of our wingers from the development squad go out and make a very good impression in the Championship…

It wasnt too long ago one of our hottest prospects on the lips of Wigan fans was none other than Magno Viera who although is doing very well at Fleetwood Town I hear …. is a good representation of how far we have come when you compare him to the likes of Dicko and Cruyff’s grandson ( please refer to youtube video for indication of his ability )

Spain and Barcelona are a mile away in standard from England and any other English club and probably will be for the forseeable future.

                                How did they acheive it?

Through long term planning from grass root level.

Exactly what Martinez is trying to do.

Of course Wiganers are generally thought of to be 20 years behind the rest of the world so this creates a bit of a pickle for the likes of Hindley who just cant understand why we cant just lob the pigskin into the box and hope for the best….

Fair enough we’ve took a few punches along the way but we are by no means out for the count!

And to call Martinez a failure when he has kept the club for last 2 seasons without a striker who cannot hit the fucking back of the net like all strikers should do is insane and surely only strengthens the fact that tactically we are very strong.

As said previously in another thread if Martinez had the money that Bruce was spending on an average season we could easily afford Defoe or a simlilar striker of his quality…

Perhaps Whelan should get his hands in his pockets eh the tight ol’ sod ?

If I was him and read some of the shite on here I’d think bollox to ya ill leave ya where I found ya you ungreatful bar stuords.

My suspicion is 99% of the so called “darksiders” would do a dissapearing act if we started plummeting through the leagues so they can pick a new team to bitch and moan about….

                                rant over.

I’ve watched this team for 35 years so your high and mighty opinion that I’m not a proper supporter doesn’t really stand up. And I’m sorry but if you honestly believe that Bob is laying the foundations for a footballing dynasty :woohoo:

So Have you always been such a miserable git?
I’ve never been more frustrated with a manager in all my time of watching football, because Salford we IMO have been shite for 3 seasons. The manager is trying to make us play like Barcelona while signing players from Scotland. His style of football is slow and boring and we will never have the quality of player who can play up front on his own. So how can you be happy with how things are because I just don’t see it.
