Thing is, we just wouldn’t know or probably won’t find out whether or not someone could do a better job because its obvious he’s staying.

If you look at the likes of Sunderland with O’Neill, they have had no extra money and he has improved the results immediately (granted he has a better squad to start off with).
Hodgson last year did the same for West Brom.

I’m not saying getting you a new manager guarantees you this, and with top managers unlikely to want to come to a sinking ship it might be hard to get the quality of manager the likes of above.

Looks like we’re stuck with Martinez so we just have to hope and pray he works things round. His philosophy which is well documented relies upon getting young players and giving them the freedom to develop their skills without the usual strict parameters of get rid football. This is going to take time and i just worry if Bob has got the right people in place for this and has enough time to monitor the day to day progress of this because this is where our future hinges.

Just read his autobiography from the time he was at Swansea and he does talk alot of sense but i still believe we are his proving ground.

Realistically are we ever going to be able to attract or produce the quality of player to play Bob’s way???

I really struggle with this notion that posters quote that poor Bob” tried to sign 3 players but what can he do when they don’t want to come “.They dont want to come because 3 seasons in he has eroded what profile we built in the previous 4.He is the manager,he chose the players,he choses tactics so surely he is responsible for us propping up the table and the reason why players see us as dead man walking…

Or, their agent gets told they can have £25k per week (£15 if we get relegated) when they know thay can go to West Brom or Fulham or even Bolton and get £40k.

Not hard really; surprised you struggle with it
WBA chairman Jeremy Peace is renowned for his prudence in what he pays in wages to the playing staff, something that west brom fans have complained about for years, Martinez is a victim of his own lack of success – why on earth would any player want to commit to a guaranteed relegation – its not as though they can top their wages up with any win bonus as a consolation.
Hey up “guaranteed relegation” your lining yourself up for another foot in mouth season.

As I’ve said before, its gonna be tough but we can do it. The likes of Bolton, Wolves and Blackburn supporters have also got twitchy bums, just like the array of defeatists on here.
We have 15 points, were exactly are these wins going to come from???

If anything , what happened on dealine day should have gained Bob some degree of darkside sympathy. Tried to sign 3 new players , who “probably” would have improved the team , and all 3 turn us down. That’s what we are up against. If that had happened to Bruce or one of the big name saviours that the darkside keep churning out , then those managers would have been off faster than an Italian captain on a sinking ship.

Fortunately for us , Bob will take it on the chin and still battle to keep us up – even with one hand tied behind his back.

Are you taking the piss??? the reason why IMO three players turned us down is that Bob is taking us down with bells on. We are not the biggest team in the world but I would expect we are alot more attractive than Watford or Bristol City. But why would they leave the Championship to go back to the Championship???

the ironic thing is; if we do go down. Keeping hold of Gomez, is what will probably give us the best chance of challenging to come back up.

he was scoring for fun in that league at Swansea.

            Hope not he’s shit.

Not surprised by the inept performance just that this clown is still in a job and even more surprised people still back him.

                  Martinez out.

You ‘darksiders’ never give credit where its due and always look for the negatives. we had a shot –

                  off target mind you

                  great reading though

spurs 10 shots on target 6 off target
wigan 0 shots on target 1 off target
I suppose you stopped watching at ht, could have nicked a draw. Not bad from a team worth 4 bob against a team worth 4 billion. :woohoo:
I watched the whole game jr and we only started to look good when Spurs had taken there foot off the gas knowing the game was won. We could have nicked a draw you say, it could have been 6 or 7 we are simply not good enough.

Good finish from Bale but he didn’t have to work too hard, Ben Watson looked like a spectator.

Your not surprised are you??? the club is well in the shit and going down so not a very attractive proposition to a potential transfer target.

Mariappa ,Johnson,Maynard all booted us in touch.Sorry Robbie but bottom 3 profile means only dollopers will sign.

I’ve no problems with players who don;t want to come, it might be their loss in the end.

AJ …may end up sitting on the Fulham bench like he has done for most of the last 18 months or so.

NM…….could have had at least got 16 games or so playing in the prem. With wet Spam, who knows the wheels might fall off.

AM…I hope the barcodes don’t up their offer and he festers in the championship for the next 6-7 years.
I hear what your saying jr but we need signings, it won’t give me any pleasure if all the above struggle and we go down.
