Martinez is saying that he is baffled why he is struggling, oh and that he is going nowhere.
Personally I think we look much better with Hugo playing that role.
From the limited amount of times I have watched Boselli he never played as a lone striker. Give him a strike partner someone to create chances for him and share the work load.He is a top finisher and I don’t believe he has become a poor player over night I just think Bob has to learn how to play him.
They wont sell decent ale and the bar prices will be ridiculous.Went in Marquee Bar last season with two mates who are Everton fans. It was one of their rounds and he went up and ordered us a pint each, as well as a double JD each.
£37 for the round.
As a Presidents club member your right Vat the beer prices are high but you show me a football club that gives anything away.
If Martinez was to go, I couldnt see a better candidate than Big Sam. Likes the area, Knows how to manage a club the size of ours, Works on tight budgets, has a good backroom staff. Loyal, Tells it how it is, If the team has played rubbish he lets everybody know rather than taking positives out of it. Vast wealth of experience and i would go and pick him up myself and drive him to the DWI absolutely hate the way his team’s play and would not want him as our manager ever. But he would keep us up which is more than can be said for the clown in charge now.
think we need a bit of creativity – in the ‘hole’ or on the right itsTime for Jordi

Fancy us today……………..f`knows why!Me neither
We have Everton today and to be honest I expect us to get beat at there place. They may not be playing great but lets not kid ourselves neither are we. IMO that puts us very much in the shoite and I am just wondering when the panic will set in and Dave will do the decent thing.
Crisis? No point being melodramatic eh? If the club was in administration – maybe. Third from bottom prior to Christmas – er, no, not really.
Standish we don’t look like winning any football matches. How long do we give Bob before we admit were fooked, may be January, February or even March when were doomed????
Will the team be better with him in it?
I can’t say as he was overly missed in the last three games. Should have (saying that too much) beat Stoke with him not there, with his past games I wonder what he brings thats different sometimes
We struggle to score goals he has been our top scorer for the last 2 seasons and your saying we don’t miss him
Are you feeling well Hindleyblue, there is a touch of positivity in that post. WTF is going on?
I may not be Bob’s biggest fan but Wigan are my team and I do want us to win games and stay up. And to do that we need all our best players playing and IMO that includes Hugo.

One thing I do agree on is that we have some good players but that’s no good if the manager wont pick a system they can play. He has had 18 month’s and not changed tactic’s once so the tinkering your after wont happen. He is either to stupid or to pig headed.
The other thing about loyalty don’t be fooled he would go to the highest bidder ask Swansea fan’s how loyal he is.
Just listened to Stuart Hall’s interview with Bob before Saturday’s game with Stoke. He started talking about him wanting to get rid of our “stepping stone” image, which is obviously not going to change because we need to sell players to survive.
But he was still preaching about wanting to take us to the next level. Admittedly, I like many fans, have become frustrated by our tactics and our poor results this season, but after hearing him speak I want to get behind him and see if he is true to his word.
He does love the club, he does know where we’ve come from and he knows the limitations we have financially and in terms of our lack of supporters. Do we really want someone else coming in who can’t associate with our history?
Maybe this is going to take more time than we realise, but on a positive note look at the good work he has done in getting rid of the deadwood and how he has got in some exciting young British talent who are going to progress and earn us millions in future years.
I think we would all agree that we have some really good players but there are areas we need to improve on. For example, I don’t think Figgy really has the ability to play our style of football and both Caldwells are far too slow for the Premier League. And what if we manage to pick up that little pocket dynamo who is finally going to pull the strings behind the main striker instead of that pudding Gomez?
With the right tinkering we could yet be a mid-table club, it’s whether Bob gets the chance to find the magic formula.
This may just be a pipe dream but I do still wonder if one day everything will click into place and we’ll look back on this period and think some of us were all maybe a little bit too hasty in calling for his head :?
I can’t believe that anyother club would have put up with this shoite for so long. Another transfer window I can’t wait!!! let’s see Bob take us to the next level.
Championship anyone
Yosser, call yourself a fan and you choose not to go and watch them at home? I presume you live in Wigan, and therefore have no other excuse for not going, in which case you’re not worth a bad language.
Unless you’re using the fact that “we’re shyte” as cover for not putting you’re hand in your pocket? Nah, surely not?
I was not aware that it was compulsory to attend every game if you was a fan. I choose not to go because i don’t agree with what i am paying for. I have had a season ticket (bar this and last season) for a good few years but if i don’t feel that i am getting value for my hard earned money then i won’t go, Simple as. You can parp on about real fan two veg all you like but until i see what it is exactly i am paying for then i won’t go. I can go down to a sunday league game and be as entertained, or better still a conference game and get the same experience. I think you are silly for actually going to be honest. Why bother going to this money driven leagues games in the first place. I think you are silly for paying the extortion they want. I only keep watching out of a general interest. Mr. Whelan had a great vision for this club and by doing it, And as how wonderful as it’s been, It has ripped the soul out of the club and fans. At one time this club was united and one, Now it is divided into so many sections it’s un-recognizable. The sooner SKY TV and the rest of them leave clubs alone the better, But it won’t happen. Too far gone now. Football is dead and has been for about 10 years. The world cup fiasco has just hammered the final nail into it’s rotten coffin. I find myself only supporting us now purely because im from wigan. Enjoyement, Nah, Not for a long time.
I would agree with the enjoyment part as for me that died in the January of Steve Bruce’s last season when we could have made Europe and Whelan sold Heskey and Wilson. Since then well you all know my feeling’s about the present manager so I wont go on, but!!!!
I can’t believe anyone who has watched our small club rise to the top division can just stop going. It’s easy to watch a winning team which we have been until recently but you find out who your real fans are when thing’s go bad. Wigan Athletic will still be here long after the Premiership and Whelan have gone so get yourself down to the DW if you really are a fan. We need all the support we can get.
Figs to Liverpool ! Hope so he is cack !Wether you like him or not he is by far our best left back and IMO up to all the speculation last season about his future he was one of our most consistent performers.
The papers can link us with who they like but if we don’t start winning games and are in the bottom three come January I’m sure they will be queing up to join us
The chosen one speaks againWether you like Bob or not you have to admit he talk’s utter shoite, he always rolls out excuses we have been unlucky we don’t get what our performances deserve.
I have a thought Bob (1) may be your team formation and tactics don’t work with the players we have (2) we are were we are because under you we don’t score goals and we can’t keep clean sheets (3) your reluctance in 18 months to try anything different.
If we are to have any hope of stopping up games like yesterday we have to win.
