Knecking four cans on Wigan Station before going to Chelsea in the Cup.
LHL sneaking 2 Litres of Vodka and Orange onto the train.
My owd mans ‘greeny’ landing straight in that mons face at Shewsbury int Cup.
The smelliest bogs ever under the Pheonix stand.Horc, thas pinched a few of mine in there !
But yes, I can answer all the questions posed. It’ll kill 90 mins on Sat’dy if the footy is boring !Another few to add:
Did Ged ever “score that one with his knob” ?
Did the Amigos enjoy your chips at the Brig ?
What’s happened to “that bird with the nice arse” arse ?
Why did Coll Ruffley’s dad always have a big bag of winter nips ?I have to admit one or two are yours,
I’d forgot about the Amigos and the chips. Was it Jesus and Issy?Did Tony Kelly really throw his boots at Hamilton?
Why did they move the away dugout to the St Andrews side?
Where did all that “Town End Roof” collection go?
Who was that owd mon who used to take the turnstile cash up the tunnel?
Did those floodlights really come from Citeh?
How fat was George Wood?
Did Plymouth really bring that many?
Who wrote “Kenyon out Whelan in” behind the supporters club?
How mad were those Walsall fans in 1980?
Was there only one Peter Houghton?
How good was that team of 86?
Where did that fog come fron at Northwich? At last, someone on the same wave length, keep’em coming.
I’ll be there, but I won’t be shouting my head off as a) I have a chest infection and a voice like Stephen Hawking at the moment and b) I sit in the west stand and therefore by definition, I am a boring, miserable old fecker
I always thought that you were a member of the infamous V100’s, and therefore very voiciferous (sp) I must be mistaken.
We were at one time, but half of the V100s defected to the east stand. Now we are only 4 and one of those forgot to renew his seat (dozy get) and so he is more of a T80 now
I’m a R80’s man, so that’s not far away from him.
Very interesting.Typically, I’m going to come out and ruffle one or two feathers with this comment, but here we go.
If we cannot survive in this league, with the wage bill and costs, and have to resort to using all the income from selling our best players, thus leaving us with NOTHING to spend on decent replacements…….
then perhaps we’d be better off in the Championship. I’m serious. Our support just isn’t good enough, and we don’t generate enough income to operate at this level. We are merely treading water. But how long can we do that for? (It is more than apparent that we are trying to cut the wage bill, with Watson going on loan, and King possibly, as well.)
I am very pleased that you have put this link on here, because it shows everybody that we are obviously struggling to make ends meet. And if that’s the case, despite ongoing player sales, big TV money, increased sponsorship, and whatever, then I really DO think that we would be better of actually competing in a lower league. (The Championship)
Blackburn are a bigger club than us. Not by much, but they have at least won the Premiership, a title which they won through buying a team to do so. They couldn’t do that now. If Blackburn are struggling, then I have no doubt that we are as well. ‘Making ends meet’, just about.I keep on hearing rumours that “Whelan is planning on pocketing 50 million, as payment for the club, and handing ownership actually back, to Wigan Athletic AFC, debt free”. However, from what you say with this link, I doubt it very much. And even if he did do that, and we named, oh, I don’t know, ‘Joe Bloggs’ as the new chairman, we’d be operating with NO cash. So we’d soon end up in dire straights, anyway.
The only way out would be a new buyer, and new investment. Someone with loads of money. But I can’t see them queuing up, can you?It puts it in perspective when you see that City are owned by TRILLIONAIRES, not millionaires. Chelsea are owned by a Billionaire, etc, etc.
We aren’t cut out for this league, I’m afraid. Ah well………..
Que Sera, Sera…….and all that.
Maybe the so called yo-yo clubs have the best ideas, come up, take the cash, go down, cut the wage bill, take the parachute payment, get promoted take the cash etc etc etc etc…….
Well done Jayt.
Are you going to tell us which multiposting wind up merchant he actually is/was?
I will never ‘out’ people….. :geek:
fair enough Jayt.
Incidently, is there any news yet?I’ll be there, but I won’t be shouting my head off as a) I have a chest infection and a voice like Stephen Hawking at the moment and b) I sit in the west stand and therefore by definition, I am a boring, miserable old feckerI always thought that you were a member of the infamous V100’s, and therefore very voiciferous (sp) I must be mistaken.
It’s already been suggested (by me and Horc) on the non-football forum that we should have a separate forum for serial moaners, or anyone making a nuisance of themselves. Surely, now is the time for this to be implemented?I still think its is a good idea even though BW has now been red carded.
Well done Jayt.

Another positive thread, this more of what we want to see. Well done LTF.
I reckon he’s already done the damage, Figgy [as you call him] has not been the same player this season. I think he’s doin a Zacky and letting all the hype get to him. :xNow the window has shut he will have no distractions so we should hopefully see a marked improvement. If not, drop him and get Edman in.
I’m trying to not post on here, but I feel I have to reply to the mention of the late Steve Cooper. He joined us on loan. Was it from Tranmere?
I actually got to know him a bit, as he lived in Wigan and came along to take my Sunday league teams training. My abiding memory is of a seemingly nice bloke, strong Brummie accent, and as a professional footballer, someone who wasn’t afraid to have a ‘kick about’ with us kids. In fact, I remember playing a one-two with him and scoring. Can’t see many of our current side turning up to coach kids like that, I mean, where would they park their posh motor?
He only played a few games for us, on loan. Did he score on his debut at Burnden Park in a 2-1 defeat? (or was it Gary Powell?)
I was genuinely sad to hear he’d passed away suddenly, in his sleep, a couple of years ago. He was only 39, married with a family. Terrible that.
I wasn’t aware that he had passed away. Sorry if I have offended anyone.
Another question for Mr Egg:
As you know there are quite a few chubby fans, you included, who post on this board.
They, for obvious reason back their other team to the hilt, and rightly so, if thats what they like.
With this in mind, why is it, that if anybody ever goes on the chubbies board, and so much as mentions the Latics in a positive way they instantly get banned?I don’t think the surface has been scratched yet.
However, I am staying positive at the moment, so I will not be adding the likes of Steve Cooper, Stehen Appleton and Wayne Entwistle to your negative thread.I have no idea mate.Unfortunately the rugby is now more anti Latics than ever due to a certain Mr DW.
Lets have an honest answer here:
Seeing as you seem to have a foot in either camp, do you think the jealousy of the Latics shown by many warriors fans is stronger than anything shown towards them from latics fans?
