McCarthy’s double last weekend reminded me of a story a mate told me recently. ”I was out with my mate at the weekend. He hadn’t scored in a while, but ended up pulling two girls in the same night. I said to him, “Just like buses”. He said, “Yeah, you wait ages and then two come along at once”. I said, “No, those women, they look like buses”.

Before I had even read half of this I knew exactly what was going to be said.. Yawnville.
Has no-one bought this? Regardless of the fact that there is a very well-written contribution by myself and two very fetching photographs of the same, it is a very well put together book with some excellent photographs of that great run-in to the end of last season.

We’re all very quick to criticise the club, it wold be nice to support them when they do something well.

Purchased one yesterday from the DW in Wigan Town Centre yesterday as part of Christmas present for mi Dad. Has a scan through and looks quite good.. Will be buying myself a copy after xmas (Not already purchased myself one as I have a feeling that a MINIMUM of one person will have already got me the book for Christmas, with me being Latics crazy an’ all) :)

I hope this deal goes through although I know absoltely zero about the player.. He could be good, could be bad, but definitely worth a gamble as we don’t seem to be banging them in at the moment.. Plus UTD must see somethign in him so why not give him a shot?

Well actually I prefer spade end hooks for my float fishing.

I also never thought we would get owt at Norwich, not with there current home record, so don’t see what all the fuckin fuss is about.

Grayling smell like cucumber as well.

Just which teams do you think we should get something from then ?
Arsenal ;)

Not as pompous as it sounds, it isn’t a black tie do or anything, but it will attract a lot of attention and tickets are limited…

                  The WASC Annual Dinner 2013

                  Looks good.

It says that you can get the ticket at the supporters bar on matchdays.. Can you also purchase the membership required there too as it only says you can get it online?

                  Thank you.

Don’t know the answer that’s why, but I’d be interested to know.

Used to use the BB Forum on the old website, but to be honest, I find this new site works fine on the iPhone just using it as is via Safari. I have to enlarge the screen every now and then due to my failing eyesight but other than that, it’s fine.

I have just been viewing it on my Galaxy s3 .. But I think an actual app would be better and a lot easier. Will look on PlayStore when I get time.

I think its about time i started posting more and cleaned this board up once and for all.

                      What Phone/Tablet do you have?

I don’t know if you are serous or not, but either way.. Worst WUM yet.

How has Alcaraz* been ‘in for it’ .. I think one person said they think his injury may be false in which the majority of the board disagreed.. Nothing even to do with performances, so how does that call for a nonsense rant to the whole board? B)

So because he helped turn our season around last season we should let him off for his piss poor displays this season? If it was once or twice then maybe I would agree but personally on this seasons displays I have no idea how he is in the side.

Didn’t see this reply until after I had posted mine (Which is more or less the same reply).. but I 100% agree.
Whats the alternative?

Drop him for Jones who cant beat a man or cross a ball?

Lets be honest if he could beat a man as people think he should and cross a ball we would have a left sided Valencia playing for us or more likely not playing for us.
Hello Capt Spaulding.

The alternative is to bring someone else in, either to replace him or at least to give him some competition (kick up the backside) to get him playing to the level we saw at the back end of last season. :)
Hello Chicken Sandwich :)

I think replacing him with a new signing is easier said than done.

I agree his performances have not been of the highest standard this season but he has still put in some good crosses.

Although a good point previously mentioned by ThirtyFive is that certain teams seem alot wiser to him this season and I think the crossing and positional play of our wing backs are being sussed more this season than last.

Plus coming back from injury at the start of the season meant a slow start for him.

Personally I think overall he will come good over the course of his career at Wigan Athletic but I dont expect him to be our only creative outlet.

I think others need to pick up the baton once in a while.
It’s actually a Chicken McSandwich Spaulding :)

Fair point, when he does actually manage to cross they are a lot more accurate than the likes of Stams crosses etc.. But as stated earlier having the ability to cross but being poor in every other sense doesn’t mean he deserves to be in the team.

Let’s be honest with regards to 2 men marking him.. He’s hardly the first person you would think of that needs 2 men marking him, and even if that was the case, it happens to a lot of danger players (Probably such as Bale, Ronaldo etc for example) and they don’t instantly start to play awful and become the worst player on the pitch (Before anyone says, I know JB isn’t at the same level as them but should still, as a professional footballer, be able to overcome the problem and play under any circumstance).

I also believe that he may come good again for us, but not once has JB been our ‘only creative outlet’.

Many on here were giving JB along with Sean Maloney plaudits for turning around our season not 11 months ago as we move with time the very same people are stabbing them in the back supporters eh

Cue the old I pay my money i can say what i want ,there on thousands of pounds a week etc etc etc

I think Maloney was more pivotal in our turnaround than JB and I haven’t heard anyone ‘Stabbing Maloney in the back’.
JB may have played a part in our turnaround, and rightly so he recieved praise for it. Now he is playing awful and providing nothing to the team, so is it wrong to slate him now JUST because he had some good games last season??

Why should someone recieve praise for the things they do well, then recieve NO criticism when they do wrong?

When he runs onto a moving ball he can cut defenders up.

                                  He really can’t.

I agree with what a few of you say, he can put a good cross in, I even had him in my fantasy league team purely due to the fact he set up quite a few of our goals at the back end of the last season, but his inability to create an opportunity to cross for himself frustrates me. The majority of his crosses are either early crosses or whenever he gets the ball passed to him in space and he doesn’t need to do anything other than cross, he just can’t make the space to cross himself, and if there is a man close he either passes it back, or loses possesion. Needs to sharpen up quite quickly.
