When teams park the bus and are obviously going for a point the really clued up managers change formation asap to nullify it. That’s why some teams are reverting to 4-4-2 4-3-3 mid game and that’s what Paul has to conquer. If it ain’t working and the opponents are sitting deep then the only way to bring them out is to play with width pace and force them out of position. Liverpool have been brilliant at it on occasions. Disappointed tonight we are simply not able to put daylight between ourselves and the rest. C,Mon boys.

Glad I was there to witness that, by far the best football we have played since I’ve been watching them from the good old non league games. I won’t listen to anyone who says Oxford are rubbish, they were one of the favs for promotion at the begining of the season. All 14 players who played a part at some point were hungrier, more skillfull and far more tactically aware than their opposing player. 2 away games, 6 points, 11 goals, 0 conceded, it doesn’t get better than that.I was just looking up the coach to see if you still had that big smile on your face, amazing what a good win does for everyone.
Remember that The Duke (Nathan Ellington for those who don’t know) will be in The Supporters club Bar (free entry now) to answer some questions plus have time with the fans for autographs and photos ect…

It was very sad news to hear of Danny passing away, he was part of the Wigan Athletic Supporters Club setup from back in the Springfield Park days, all the way up to about 4 seasons ago.
He had to give up volunteering back then as his health was suffering, but he always pooped in the Supporters Club Bar whenever he could, though it has been a lot less lately.
He was Wigan through and through and will be missed by many who knew or knew of him, anyone that travelled to games will have bumped into him at some point, plus anyone who is a member of the Supporters Club would have known him much better.

According to Jay Whittle of the Wigan Evening post, myself and Ian are “Supporters Club Duo”, and his piece seems to imply that Ian was the only one there.
Even though he knows my number, email address and Facebook messenger details he based his article around Mr Wadsworth, nice touch.
Maybe you’re right Egg, it must be Ian that is the driving force, I will try to keep on his tails :silly:

Belated Thank You.
I was always staying for a few days down there anyway (Birthday Week and all that).
We are the first non-employees of a football club to win this, and hopefully more and more League Clubs will now realise that a Ticket Office Manager, Hospitality Manager or Club Secrretary cannot do this role (especially on match day) on top of their other committments and get fans in to do it like Wigan (and a few other clubs) has.

Parking will be a bit hectic tonight:
For those running coaches you will be dropped off at the ground then the coach will be moved off site til the end of the game where it will be allowed back for pickup.
Cars and mini buses will have to fend for themselves in the side streets or pub/social club car parks that will facilitate you.

Most parking is at least half a mile away from the ground if you can’t get the limited spots near to the stadium.
Train isn’t really an option either as it will be difficult to get back to Preston with the bus service they are running due to the Blackpool line being closed.
Coach is by far the best option

So Far it is the Bell and Bottle, Willows Social Club and the 3 pubs in Wesham (Stanley Arms, Derby Arms and Lane Ends).
The Bradley Sports Bar will only let fans with Home End Tickets in, no away fans at all in there.
