Google ads (and most ads these days) are dynamic, they tap into web sites that have recently been visited and/or searches typed in engines to bring back relevant advertising for you.

12,181 in the first leg – 34,692 in the second.
Similar to your more recent semi final where only 12,860 turned up last year, 12,700 in 2011 or 12,975 in 2009 – with 50/50 crowd splits between the two teams.
Your point is what?
It seems to me your hatred of Latics is borne out of the fact that we don’t get good crowds. You MUST realise that crowds don’t guarantee results, only the team on the pitch can influence that – though I will take the point that a larger more vocal home crowd could raise some players games.
But when it boils down, you can keep coming on here and slating Latics crowds from a Rugby perspective and I will keep coming back on here and knocking you down, because it is futile. Twenty years ago you could have done this and won nearly every post because of the gulf between the two clubs, that gulf isn’t there any more.
We have two teams that are now supported by similar amounts of spectators and so the crowd issue (unfortunately for you) does not affect us any more. If you want me to be pedantic, I could say Latics have been the most successful sports team in recent times because of the crowd increase over the last 15 years and the figures are there for every one to see.
I used to watch WRLFC for many, many years and I stopped because of the complete lack of respect the WRLFC Board showed to Latics. I have got over that now as the Wigan Warriors is in no way shape or form the same CLUB that was around in those days, I wish them the best though I will not physically be in the ground to applaud them, I have no interest in the SPORT anymore (you can thank Robinson, Lindsey and co for that) – but I will always want anything/one/team representing Wigan to win.
You would have greater chances of wining a crowd related thread on here if you cam from your Sunderland perspective, but even there, as with your Rugby stance, there isn’t much common ground to go on.
As for calling me/us GOONS, name calling is always the last resort of someone who knows they have lost their argument.
Carry this on if you wish, but I won’t be embarrassing you anymore by dragging up the past to show you that there are nearly always similar or worse episodes in the Rugby archives.

I have never seen you admit we had more support, so how am I wrong? But anyway, that wasn’t the point we were trying to iron out, I threw that in as an observation.
So as you haven’t challenged the rest of my post I assume you conceded that I am right about both team’s fans don’t really turn out for the early rounds of the Cup (but at least our fans had the added excuse that we field reserve sides), thanks.

After all these years you have now at least admitted that you know there are more supporters of Wigan Athletic than Wigan Warriors, realisation has at last kicked in. Even the most ardent fan was clinging on to the hope that we had the same…….
No matter how you spin it, we played a reserve/development squad against Bournemouth and it was no secret. I’ll watch a team in a Wigan shirt against anybody, but I am not going to make excuses regarding those that didn’t go, it is their choice and they obviously want to see the first team play (or maybe it isn’t obvious!!!).
I don’t pretend to understand your play off system, but in my eyes if you are three matches away from winning a final, you are in the quarter finals (whose making excuses here?). Is a better comparison the 4,198 you had on against the North Wales Crusaders in the Challenge Cup – your equivalent Cup….. If we make it to the fifth round with a home draw, lets see if we can then make a comparison to the Catalan game or the 12,000 you had against Leeds in the semis of the CCC.
Totally hypothetical argument regarding the quarter final crowd, but if you are suggesting that the visitors brought nobody it shows what a state the RL sport is in if true.

Jesus, how embarrassing!!
At least they went. Unlike 6,000 of your “Loyal” ST holders last weekend.
Dont use price as an excuse, because these loyal fans only paid £13 a game at the start of the season, so its not like they had to shell out £30 on New Years Day for a Man U ticket.
But did shell out for Newcastle, Norwich and Aston Villa Away in a short space of time.
With regards to 6,000 loyal ST holders not going to a reserve game, I can’t comment. I thought 8,000+ was a decent crowd considering it was public knowledge that the second string was to be used, I expected it to be a couple of thousand less than that.
Does that compare to where 6,000 loyal ST holders disappeared to when your full strength squad took on Catalan for the play off quarter finals in front of just over 7,000? (I can feel the steam building)

No pal, I don’t think I had any input into that…. I remember it though.
I only got involved with Cockney Latic around 2002 helping out on the site, then ran it virtually on my own from 04/05-08/09, when the founders just seem to disappear.
I spoke to John then and took the decision to go it alone (away from SKY/Talk Sport/Rivals) just before SKY went and pulled the plug…
Myself and John now have contributions and help from Adz, Griff, Jonny, Duke, George, Mark and Julian (sorry if I’ve missed anybody) – without whom the site would be in a lot worse state.
Because of setting up my own business over the last 18 month or so, I have been forced to spend a lot less time on here. But things are very stable with the business now and so I will probably be able to start dedicating lots more time filling up the front end with more articles and try to get some money in to it to get some competitions running again and develop it even further.
John has been working very hard behind the scenes (the new archive and stats systems are coming along fine now, plus a bit of a new look will be seen soon as well) and I am still trying to get some other contributors to pitch in, hopefully over the next few months we’ll get back to normality…. might even see about an Annual (or more regular) Cockney Latic Fanzine….

This is the best I can drag from the archives….
None of the links work as I can’t be doing using my time to reload all the images and files…..anyway, this is the latest version you are on…… and it is about to get super charged (with a very slightly new look) as soon as we get through testing.

I personally can’t take anybody’s opinion seriously if they feel they have to insult our football club or ANY of its representatives.
I’ve known Dave for a long time and he knows there is no need to be insulting to get a point across – so why are you doing it? Effect? Grow up and have adult debates, I am sure Roberto seeing someone call him a Spanish Clown will be like water off a ducks back, but that doesn’t mean it is OK to do it.
I remember you asking me to remove many threads and posts over the years because it was potentially affecting you work, I remember you calling them cowards and not fit to burn for doing it to you….. is this any different?

Wigan don’t play full backs! Is he going to play as a centre back or a wing back?
He’ll have to be trained in Wigan’s tactics. If he is being offered a regular place, who is he going to replace? At least Wigan appear to be active in the transfer market. I’m more worried about where the goals are going to come from. I’d like to see a little more of Miyaichi. He does seem willing to take people on.
Yeah Donners?
What’s the starting 11 v Fulham?
Did Martinez express disapointment to players after the draw yesterday?
What does he have for breakfast before a big game?
Chop chop
Martinez said he was very happy with the performance of some of the players yesterday, he was especially proud of the way the ones that have come through our development system handled themselves. They showed a lot of character in a very tough match against a team that has not lost in 17 games in all competitions.
Some showed that will be pushing for first team places and will grow stronger as they get more chances like these to get used to playing competitive matches.I personally thought that Danny Redmond did more in one half than what Beausejour has done so far this season. Golobart seemed to be confident and strong, McManaman will only benefit from more games, Henriquez looks strong and menacing, Mike Pollitt is still not past it and at the end of the day we came through a game that we could have lost had their heads gone down.
I think this will be a similar team that will play in the replay (with some of the injured players returning to be included) and will have learned from this experience. They will go down there knowing that only a win will do and I reckon they’ll do it comfortably.

Well, well, well…
Mr Pom Pom has turned into Mr Giveup.
If anyone ever doubted that Wigan fans were fickle, here’s your answer.
Unbelievable, and pathetic. Grow up!!!
Good job this board or any board for that matter was going after the Canvey Island escapade
Actually, Cockney Latic DID have a message board then and there was quite a lively debate about where white dog poo had gone, you never see it anymore.
We generally congratulated Canvey on their win and got on with having a laugh – oh those were the days eh!! goodpost B)
