No I’m not easily pleased and you can confirm that by talking to my mate who travels with me. What I don’t do Dave is get too excited when we play well or get my knickers in a twist when we don’t. I’ve told you time and time again don’t go on the anti-Martinez campaign every time we lose or you will only look a fool again if we do our usual escape act. It took LMB a while to cotton on and its taking you longer for some reason.
We have been in worse positions than this and got out of it. I’m loving it as we are up against the media, opposing fans who think we have no right being in this league and yes up against our own fekin fans now.
You come on here and claim that you would love it if we get relegated and you can’t wait to post when we lose.

What a journey!This is my first post on here for about 5 years, so please be gentle everyone.I’ve nipped across here from TNS simply because I felt I should put the record straight with regard to the thread to which ABL refers. You see, I started it. Though there may admittedly have been a hint of mischief in the request to admin to “unban” Vat69 (who I believe is now you, ABL), but the sentiment was genuine. I really wanted to understand your 180 deg about turn……….. especially with it being so soon after your previous 180 deg about turn only a few short months earlier.
You see, on TNS, far from it being a Roberto love-in, there are probably more inclined to the murkier end of the darkside, as opposed to the unashamed lightsiders like me, so you’d probably have got quite a bit of support for your argument. (I’ve no doubt that support would have been a damn sight more considered and eloquent than “Spanish clown” mind).
As Griff, Mighty Aff & others rightly state, a forum is for discussing opinions. I just struggle to follow which one you’re championing at any particular point in time !
Now, finally, will you please bloody well let on just what the hell was on your banner from last season but one………. you know, the one you was going to unveil at the West Ham game. I’m sure it was very witty.

I’ve known Dave for a long time and he knows there is no need to be insulting to get a point across – so why are you doing it? Effect? Grow up and have adult debates, I am sure Roberto seeing someone call him a Spanish Clown will be like water off a ducks back, but that doesn’t mean it is OK to do it.
I remember you asking me to remove many threads and posts over the years because it was potentially affecting you work, I remember you calling them cowards and not fit to burn for doing it to you….. is this any different?

Ok, I accept and admit that I should not have labelled our manager a ‘Spanish Clown’, as there was no need for me to go that far. He’s a nice bloke…blah blah blah…
But I stand by everything else I have said. We are mediocre, have gone backwards (go back two and half years on here….same discussions, same criticism of playing faults and manager) and I, and I know I am not alone, think it’s time we had a new manager and did away with this absolute dross we are churning out.

I wouldn’t say we have gone backwards in Bobby’s time as a manager. I think you have to look at how other clubs have progressed. There are teams who have been in and around the top 6 that would normally be mid to lower half of the table e.g. Fulham. There have been no relegations on 12-15 points its been quite competitive for the past 3-4 seasons.
I have to agree with Bobby when he says its the best group of players we’ve had for a long time, because yes, we have took points off Man U, we have won at Anfield, Emirates and beat Spurs at WHL.
Lets see were we finish this year, its only half way through the season and lots can happen. We have had the worst run of injuries and suspensions I have ever known in my time watching Latics particularly at the back. this together with some awful penalty decisions have cost us at least 8-10 points.
The squad is slowly getting back to full strength again and there are some very winnable games coming up. If we can keep this squad together and add a few more faces then I will expect a finish anywhere between 9th to 15th.
I’m not up Bobby’s harris the man has a lot to learn but I am glad he is learning at our club and not Liverpool or Villa.From Matlock to ManU
