From Matlock to ManU
What a journey! When I first saw them I immediately thought of a cartoon character from when I was growing up.
The name came to me this morning …”Marine Boy”
Boy did that make me feel old when I saw it was the 60’s when that cartoon first hit our screens!! :crying-yellow:

What a journey!Exactly 33!!
We are all hoping for at least one or two new signings and players that will be capable of going straight into the first team, not some young French kid who will potentially be up for it in 2 seasons time.
However, there is another 3 weeks to go before the window shuts, it’s not next week so lets see what happens. If Bobby doesn’t get a decent replacement for Zog, then I will be a bit worried / annoyed. However, with what I’ve seen from David Jones in the 2 matches he’s featured, I can see him making a better contribution than young Tom did.
I know he was plagued with injuries last season, but at times he flattered to deceive, especially in the last 3-4 games when we needed him to shine.Lets all chill for a week or two and see what unfolds. ;)

What a journey!I find it hard to understand why you let the things you have detailed, spoil your enjoyment of watching football.
I watched that friendly today and didn’t think once about what the footballers earn or how money is spoiling the game. I sat there and watched a damned good game of football.
Its just the same as when I was in Blackpool earlier this week and paid £3.50 a pint in the talk of the coast cabaret. I made comment on the prices but still got a belly full and enjoyed the evening. Whoever owns that place is making a fortune, because people like me chose to go and spend my hard earned cash in the place despite the rip off prices.
I could have easily gone 100 yards down the road to some grotty pub full of pisheads and paid £1.80 for exactly the same beer. You can harp on all you want about how money and players attitudes are spoiling the game of football, but it is a great product and people in their millions want that product that badly, they will deprive themselves of certain other luxuries and even some non-luxury things, to get it.

What a journey!I know what you’re saying Griff but if he gets moved on from City I can’t see anyone in the EPL being prepared to pay his wages. He is 30 in October and is a pace player, whose legs must be slowing down a bit.
Having had phenomenal wages for 8 or 9 years I think he may take a drop to get more games.
The next few days will be interesting.

What a journey! If Bobby wants him Whelan will get him. The Zog money will see to that. Unless noblot sell Cahill they have no money. The fact that they screwed £4m out of us for Ali makes me think they are badly in debt.
As for Sunderland, SWP has already stated that he is settled in the Manchester area therefore may not want to up sticks if he can play for a local team.
I’ve heard he just loves our 3rd kit and would kill to wear it!! ;)

What a journey!I can fully understand these latics fans having a pop at the Chubsters crowds having endured over 25 years of pish taking from them myself. If you don’t agree with it just don’t get involved with the thread its that simple. To me and many others I hate Wigan rugby more than I hate Bolton or Preston. So as I said this is a wigan athletic forum and of fans want to have a go at our lodgers so be it. Just avoid the thread if you don’t agree you wont change anyone’s views on this.

What a journey!Whelan was talking about it live on SSN last week. Apparently it was Gary Caldwell’s idea. What a great club we support!
