I first saw him at owdum in the pre-season friendly and he looked a real gem. All his good stuff was done in and around the box, not receiving balls round his throat 35 yards out with his back to goal.
I know it was only owdum :teasing-blah: , but lets see if he gets a chance. If he is still at the club come August 13th, I think we may see a different Mauro.
I would love him to be given the No. 2 jersey so we can all sing… “2 Mauro, 2 Mauro, I love yer 2 Mauro, your only a goal away” :shifty:

What a journey! And by the same token, if all the players got a run out tonight, which Bobby said they would, then the likes of Sammon, Moses, Zog, Di Santo, Macmanaman etc were not good enough on the night, to score against a bunch of swedish amateurs.??

What a journey! You know it may just be true that they have on average larger supporters than us but maybe it’s because the bigger ones can feel reasonably secure in the knowledge that morons such as some of you lot won’t be there to make them feel unwelcome.
Cracking opening post, I hope to god she doesn’t look on this forum. She doesn’t, we both work in the same office.

What a journey!Sounds like it was a good solo goal un aw. :happy-partydance:
This could be the new signing we’ve been waiting for. Didn’t bobby loan out BW to the baggies and he came back a far better player.

What a journey! And before this thread gets moved to the non footy forum, any ideas how the money from last weekends chubster game in the smoke was shared out…let me think ….4,423 x £8.50, that’s £37,595.50 shared between 40 players, plus back room staff, don’t forget the “ofseed ref” and 2 linesmen, coach travel down, 114 meat and potato pies [with gravy], 36 copies of the beano, 2136 meters of sticking plaster, 2 kilos of that white stuff [ ;) ], and 6 snakes and ladders boards.
That’ll be yip, £24.68 per chubbie!!
Don’t try and take the pish about our £6m players numpty!! :shhh:

What a journey! You’ll be lucky to get £6 million for him. The clubs that can afford him and his excessive wage demands aren’t desperate to pay silly money right now. You’d be better off hanging onto him until January and take stock. If you are looking safe, then get whatever you can for him. However, if you are down the wrong end then keep him for the season and maybe he’ll single-handedly keep you up again – well worth losing him on a free if thats the case.

What a journey!Yep Whelan, you fook off, because the 15k average crowds will be enough to keep us up and buy us some top players. :angry-banghead:Who cares about the Rugby comment, one comment from Whelan wont change peoples perceptions no matter what he says, if everyone thinks its a Rugby town its not gonna change cos Whelan says any different / or agrees.
And hes right about NZogbia, any club thats interested already know hes in the final year of his contract so Whelan is right to basically admit to us that unless he signs a new contract hes gone for 7-8million. We need the money from NZogbias transfer, Uncle Daves millions wont last forever.
Some people need to get their head out of the clouds on this site, we are Wigan not Real Madrid!
Welcome back Dave, hope you have been keeping well.

What a journey!Reports that we’ve put a bid of £3m in for him.
From clips of this game looks quite nippy, skilful but far too easily knocked off the ball. Not sure if he would stand up to the riggers of the EPL from what I’ve seen here.

What a journey!Agree to a certain extent, but I can’t remember a player coming up from the championship, having never played in the Prem and having such a big impact as CA has had.
But as you say, if we don’t get 12-15m for Charlie, Whelan wants shooting. :violence-instagib:

What a journey!Villa have told Liverpool to stump up 19 mill for Downing well im not being funny but no way is Downing twice the player Charlie is. Do the same Dave and tell them to up the ante. Why should our players go on the cheap? i dont care if Downing is flaming English he aint worth that money. Was thinking that misel. Compare what the two did last season and anyone apart from villa fans will not be able to tell you one exciting thing that Downing produced.
Charlie on the other hand…. :happy-partydance:From Matlock to ManU
