I would like to point out that Darakwa, Tilt and McLean should be bench players at best.

What a journey!Don’t think we can complain too much about the officiating given that Broadhead appears to be offside.
There’s some clear weaknesses in the side/squad. Hopefully Kolo is backed to be able to replace them.
You must be joking he didn’t get one decision right including as you say our “offside” goal. The 3 that stick out to me is the superb save made by their outfield player when the ball was deffo going in, the foul on Fletcher when he was about to score at the near post and the trip on Lang when he had left their defender for dead and had a clear run on goal.
He constantly wasted time talking to players pushing, pulling, holding players at corners, only to let them do exactly the same thing 15 seconds later. He was awful.From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!That was 100% better all round yesterday. Midfielders wanting to get forward none of the tippy tappy stuff at the back for a few minutes before the inevitable big punt upfield.
Great to see flat back 4 just need a decent center half to play alongside Whatmore, Tilt is a disaster on legs. If Nyambe gonna be out for a long time we also need a right back and a decent target man if Wyke is out long term.
I personally would have Shinnie and Cousins in for Naylor and Power but tbf they both did OK yesterday particularly Power who did far more for the midfield cause than he normally does.
That was the same players yesterday that Richardson worked with and boy did things look better against a team with the best home form in the Championship. 👏From Matlock to ManU

Toure may be good or he may be bad but I don’t give a toss. I have lost all respect for the club over the treatment of Richardson and with it now comes a lack of interest.I know the responders will be on with their “happy clapper” responses and “great coach shit manager” responses and that is fine as that is their opinion. My opinion is the club has shit on a guy who excelled in his achievements for 2 seasons and the first couple of months of this season. 5th of October I was at Hull and when we went 1-0 up we were provisionally in the play offs (as high as 3rd I think)……5 weeks later he’s sacked.
So splash the cash on wages and compensation when Leam wasn’t backed at all and let’s see where it gets you Mr Chairman and Mr CEO.

Okay then spit your dummy out for the rest of the season. I loved Richardson to bits and really wanted him to turn things around. The problem was he just stuck with the same players, formation and tactics that clearly wasn’t working. This brought on his own downfall.
How much fucking longer did we have to watch that shit, because he stuck by us when we went into administration and got us promotion. Now be honestly with yourself we won a load of games last season when we had been outplayed. We won the league due to the fact we scored a raft of goals from set pieces.
This season, the euphoria of winning the league and the fact that other teams were finding their feet led us to having a decent start. Still in the main due to Keane scoring from corners and free kicks. Whilst other teams moved forward we went back and he ended up setting his team up not to lose. 3 CH’s, 3 defensive midfielders, player in the fuckin hole contributing nothing to the midfield battle and teams just picked us off.
How the likes of Amos, Tilt, Power, Darakwa, McClean and dare I say it Keane (tbf due to the position he played) got selected week in week out when they were worse than awful, beggars belief. If he was still our manager they would also be starting against Millwall and all the games if fit to the end of the season. Why the fuck did he at least not try, flat back 4, give Shinnie the arm band, bring back McGrath, give Sculley a run in the team and maybe fletcher. Give Thelo 5 or 6 games instead of 2. Give Bennett a decent run in the team in a flat back 4 with McClean playing in his position on the left wing, (He will not be a wing back as long as he’s got a hole in his arse) Everyone could see that apart from Leam Richardson and obviously his coaches.
He wasn’t insane but insanity is described has doing the same things day after day and expecting to get better results.
Sorry but thanks for all you’ve done Leam, you will always be a Wigan athletic legend, but enough was enough. Roll on Toure with his 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 lets go out to win games instead of setting up not to lose.
By the way when we beat Blackpool their man was sent off after 18 mins yet Kelly changed nothing, 3 at the back ffs our spare man was stood at center half. Whatmore getting injured on 42 mins forced his hand and he went 4 at the back pushed McClean further up and we started to gain control even though we only scored a jammy goal from a corner. It was the same crap set up with the same crap coaches.

What a journey!I think the Toure appointment is an exciting one. It looks to be 99% over the line, rumours are that he is attending and organizing the training session tomorrow before they go out to Turkey or wherever for warm weather training. The fact that his appointment attracts compensation yet the owners have not blinked and eyelid, shows that they will invest in the club.
I had one eye on Critchley but who is to say he doesn’t come as a first team coach.??
As people have said the new gaffer needs to re- assess the squad including those on loan and from what I saw in the u21 game yesterday, those who may be able to take the step up.
All bodes well and has got every fan chomping at the bit for the official news and the restart in December.From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!Agree totally with cup winners. It was obvious to see he had his 5-6 favourite players and they were getting picked no matter how they played.
The main ones being Amos, Tilt, Darakwa, Power and McLean. The form of those 5 has been awful to say the least. Amos before being injured was letting shots in from all angles, Tilt can’t mark up, he has the positional awareness of a school kid. People see the 2 or 3 things he’s done well in the game, Miss all his fuck ups and give him the motm.
Darakwa does not know how to pass the ball forward and misses tackles left right and center. McLean just hasn’t got the legs to play as a wing back and is a heart in mouth defender.
The worse one for me though is Power. He spends more time pointing at others to do stuff he doesn’t do anything himself. I watched him during the Stoke game and his first tackle and close down came on 55 mins. In the Swansea game he let players run past him into the box for both goals. We never scored from any of his long throws, but he is good at taking free kicks, that’s were his contribution ends.
I would include Keane in that lust, but its the position he plays not the player himself. He disappears down that “hole” just popping up to score goals from corners and free kicks.
The constant playing if 3 at the back to fit Tilt in the team was not working. Add to that playing 3 defensive midfielders in the same starting line up plus a man in the hole meant we were giving the opposition full control of the game both home and away.
So that’s what let Leam down, in my opinion. It was obvious he wasn’t prepared to change things and also not let other players have a decent run in the team.
A big thank you for all he’s done for our club but it was time for him to go. I wish him all the best in his next venture and he will always be seen as one of the best managers Wigan Athletic have ever had, for various reasons.

What a journey!Jack Clarke at Sunderland is coming on leaps and bounds by playing regular for them. He is also 20 years old and played 17 games for the black cats last season.
There’s only so long you can keep holding players back before they start to think they might be better going elsewhere to get games, so open talks with their agents. We cannot let this happen to Thelo, the lad looks ready.
Leam needs to start him to see how he responds to the task. If it doesn’t come off they continue to work on him in training and he goes back to the bench, but a minimum if 3 -4 games he should get. Look how long it took Magennis to start playing, 12-13 games?From Matlock to ManU
