More chance of us signing Messi, we have bid for another fullback from Hearts. For whatever reason GC doesn’t seem to want to go for a forward maybe he feels Sam Cosgrove can do a job there.
That full back you refer to, Calum Patterson can also play as a striker, just seen his compilation video and he certainly knows where the back of the net is.
what about this striker….

What a journey!Maybe, but he did what he had to yesterday. i think jussi may be the better shot stopper but Bogdan does come off his line more even if he punches it rather than catches it. Hes also a lot more agile at his age.

What a journey!er…Bogdan kept a clean sheet yesterday. ;)

Good turn out, how many did Wigan Warriors take to Castleford to see their team lose as well?
About twice as many as Wigan Athletic took to see their team lose at Oldham.
But the difference is sunbeam, that super 8’s malarkey is the chubsters only chance of winning summut, they have fecked up everything else.
We have set out this season to consolidate a good position in the championship and build on that.
Yer shower of shyte meanwhile continue to under achieve season after season.See the subtle difference broath brain?

What a journey! How did he get on in his first competitive game ?I know we was short of right back options during the summer but is this lad good enough to cement a place in the team for the whole season ?
He started off a bit nervous but grew into the game. His link up play and passing is very good, defensively he only started to get caught out just before he was subbed, but that may have been down to his head injury.
All in all an impressive display in his first start for the club.
I remember Leighton Baines coming into the first team and having a nightmare in his first full start, was it against Northampton?? . He soon picked up the pace of the game and the rest is history. I would give young Burke a 6 or 7 out of 10 for his first Championship start, was one of our “better” players. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!Just scored for Rangers and seemingly he is on fire and defences are terrified. He might possibly be on fire as he may be sat in front of a blazing fire for the next few games, having picked up an injury at the weekend. :woohoo:

What a journey!I was quite pleased with what I saw in the first half and for the first 20 mins or so of the second. Gilbey in particular catching the eye.
We seemed happy to get pushed back defending the edge of our box and both their goals came after young Burke was subbed. He did seem to be struggling at that point and GC confirmed he took a bang to the head and that’s why he was brought off.
A few negative things for me which are a bit worrying albeit only one game into the season, but its been evident in the pre-season games I’ve seen.
1) Perky looked a yard off the pace, getting caught in possession and missing tackles, is this a step up too far for a 34 year old? I’ll reserve judgement till 5 or 6 games in, but he just didn’t look the player from last season and if it proves right lets hope GC sees it and takes swift action.
2) The back 3 central defenders are totally devoid of pace. Bristol City were happy to keep bunging the ball into our box and managed to score 2 goals, I worry that teams who play 4-4-2 may have a big un and a quick un and that may cause us serious problems round the back.
There were 2 or 3 instances in the first half when the ball was just too long for the onrushing Bristol City forwards, but they had left our defenders trailing several yards behind them.3) We actually got muscled off the ball too many times. GC also picked up on this in his post match interview saying we were soft and it’s a mans game.
I hope we replicate the first 45 mins rather than the second 45 mins in the oncoming games and if we do we will be alreet.
Loved the ground by the way , it looked a lot different from the last time I was down there.

What a journey! How sad that your mood is judged by whether a club playing a sport you have no interest in wins or loses. My weekend got better with a pre-season win at Rotherham in front of our new manager. I wasn’t even aware the latics were playing today, howver having checked the score, I see you were right about the goals starting to come.
You lying get, you spend more time on here than most Latics fans do.
I suggest you grow up and spend yer spare time talking with your chubster mates, that’s if you have any.
Your obsession with the towns football team is unbelievable :PFrom Matlock to ManU
What a journey! We need to get Pearce and Morgs fit and that will solve the defensive problems. B)

My weekend has got a whole lot better today. Hows yours going?
You thick wazzuk, read my post again a bit slower this time. I said we will get the goals in games that matter. These pre season friendlies are exactly what it says on the tin, friendlies, playing about with teams and formations. They count for nothing.
I’m having a great weekend thanks for asking, mainly at the expense of the cherry and shytes on Friday.
Beaten [thrashed]at home by your biggest rivals in a game that did matter. Don’t you just love it!!
