Yes Griff I know he was, my origanal point was that it cant just be blamed on the back 4 every time the other team score. Got to get the right player in front of them.
I think the “we’re doomed” scenario depends on how you answer this question.Do I support Wigan Athletic, the football club, or do I support Wigan Athletic, the Premier League football club. If it’s the latter, then yes we are doomed and you’ll no doubt walk away like many others. If it’s the former, then we aren’t doomed, we’ll simply be playing at a lower level.
Well said Otter, its not the end of the world or WAFC if we go down. There will still be a team playing next season you know and you never know we may even enjoy next season if we go down and win a few more games? I actually think that with all the young lads that played at Bolton in cup we would have a good side next year more than capable of coming back up.
Must agree back 4 not the best, but 1 of our midfielders should be told to sit in front of them at all times to prevent balls like the 1st goal getting through so easily, I thought that was the idea of having 3 central midfielders? All the top teams have a midfielder that protects the back 4. Look at Claude Makelalie (spelt wrong) when at Chelsea he never moved from in front of defence. I would put Macarthur there personaly as I dont think Thomas or Diame can do it disiplined enough and I dont rate either of them.

I would have the 1st team but both jimmy macs in and de santo on bench, macarthur sitting in front of back 4 while cleverly and mcarthy help attack.I think splitting Diame and Thomas up makes our midfield faster and fresher, they shoud never be in the same side in my opinion.
Played well last night I thought, never gave up played with a bit more attacking intent than previous games. There is no manager in the world that do anything when 1 of your players needlesly gives away a stupid foul like Thomas.
Lets start getting behind the team, there seems to be too many people going to games just to moan, why?
