Doesn’t sound good at all.
Think he should make all the press pay for entry & refreshments tomorrow; chase the “freeloaders” out of town.
Let’s hope that pork pies are off tomorrows free buffet for the media; otherwise they may twist it into something more sinister.
Pork pies will be fine in the current context ;)
Let’s see how many extra bums are on seats tomorrow..there’ll be plenty of photographers there before start of play.
At this rate we are in danger of becoming the next Millwall ie an anti-hero type club who doesn’t give a damn if the rest of the football world hates us.
Fook the lot of em…we are Wigan…FA Cup Winners against overwhelming odds :woohoo:
So this fella who changed Cardiff’s identity by changing to red which is lucky in his own country disrespecting the Cardiff fans and discriminating against their wishes now brands Mr Whelan and I quote “a racist chairman hiring a racist manager”Now forgive me if I’m wrong but I thought that neither of them had been charged and convicted of the said offences. What happened to innocent before proven guilty?
Lawyers at the ready.
George Carmen RIP….DW would have been on the phone by now ;)
DW apologies….that’s a first
premier range pull the plug on shirt sponsor
Probably the worst move they could have made.
If ever our club was in the media spotlight its now. I was sick of seeing the Lowri Beck sign at the top of the west Stand yesterday with all the hype around the appointment of McKay.
The entrepreneurs will tell you that any publicity is good publicity.
Apart from the chap who paid 1000’s for Jimmy Savile’s Rolls Royce for wedding transport…
That’s bad.
Whilst none of us (well most
) would never question the Chairman’s dedication to the club, I wish he’d just button it sometimes.Hiring Malky was always going to ruffle feathers; sod that, some of those feathers deserve to be ruffled.
I’m not sure what DW’s comments about the MP or this latest interview bring to the club apart from trouble and sponsors pulling out/not signing up.
Let’s shown them all yet again…get behind Malky and the boys…watch out Middlesbrough the new era has started
Has she ever been to a Latics match, or is she just like all the other Councillors who only realised Wigan had a football team when there was a Wembley band wagon to jump on?It’s not just Griff who asks rhetorical questions
Ever generous, DW will have reserved a seat for her just behind the technical area…
In fairness she has shown her knowledge of football by regularly showing her support for 2 upfront. ;)
3rd time lucky hopefully, since Bobby’s departure.
With all the off field controversies, Malky has a point to prove, which should work in our favour.
Will he be in charge on Saturday? Usually the manager gets a bit of time to work with the players before taking charge.
Start of yet another new era…team for Saturday anyone?
…except some w@nker thought it was funny to set the fire alarm off at 1am and 2am….
Yeah, sorry about that. Seemed funny at the time
The receptionist said it was a drunk woman who was escorted from the premises by the Old Bill…
I can be anybody you want me to be at 2 in the morning ;)
Lord Lucan will do nicely, Griff

Did the OP go ok when you had it?
She’s just done the typical MP thing, seen an opportunity to voice her opinion on something and tried to curry favour with her bosses and voting public of Wigan. She is as entitled to anyone to an opinion on wether Malky Mackay is the right person for our club (be it for footballing or other reasons).Where she is bang out of order is that she has chosen to go public on her views at a point where the only link to us and Malky is that he is an unemployed football manager and we are looking for a new manager. The time to use her political position to comment on Malky becoming our manager is if/when the club confirms he has been invited for interview or indeed offered the job/appointed and even at that point a private letter to the club would be more appropriate.
I thought Labour MPs were all in favour of reducing unemployment
When DW wants her opinion he’ll no doubt ask for it…don’t hold your breath Ms Nandy. How many games has she been to?
Well it was dodgy in the 1st half…plenty of possession, without any real purpose.
Familiar fare really at our 2nd home.
At the interval it was obvious the game needed a goal.
This time Hart was beaten all ends up by a header in that goal there were no cheers from us.
Then it started.
We actually looked half decent for the last half hour….
The pitch was a disgrace. NFL markings down the side of the pitch (didn’t realise how narrow their pitch was) and lines across it (well we’re used to those :woohoo: )
Lots of kids there, good atmosphere. No ale on sale (effing UEFA rules again  ) Much better playing on a Saturday when more of us can get to the Smoke.
Kerry Packered now…the wife’s asleep on settee. Stayed in same Premier Inn as for semi v Arse…except some w@nker thought it was funny to set the fire alarm off at 1am and 2am….
Superb goal.
Great corner at the other end as well…
Captain then on the bench next game under Herr Swappenchange…he’s a much greater chance of starting on 22nd under Barrow, Black, McKay, Jones or whoever
4 wins in 27 games It was inevitable
Probably. And I STILL don’t think the football was all that bad. Results were bad, granted. So, I suppose, given that it didn’t look like changing any time soon…
That’s the problem though, the Championship is all about the results, performance second. Unlike the Prem, when we knew we were bound to lose a few games, possibly in succession, the performance was more important sometimes ie not throwing in the towel and getting hammered like at Spurs, Chelsea etc.
You can’t win sometimes as a manager. The Derby result was almost as bad really for Uwe because it showed up that every game in this division is winnable, so why the hell are we in this mess?
Steve kean ….I take it that was tongue in cheek Crammy? I’d sooner have Coyle back :woohoo:
Graeme Jones for me ;)
