      4-2-3-1 for me

      . Gilks
      Connolly Burn Bux Warnock
      . Perks Power
      Jacobs. Gilbey Obertan
      . Bogle

      Attacking options off the bench
      Grigg Mandron Colclough

Not a chance hell go with this, at least 4 too many attack minded players for his liking.

Colclough not even been making bench so no chance I’m afraid. He’s a young skilfull attacking midfielders not a defensive hard worker so enough said.

It will be Power and Perkins in with those well known attacking wingers Tunnicliffe and Hansen.

Hope in wrong but same old same old. It’s not the players that need to just change its the stifling negative tactics.

need to be averaging 2 points a game not 1. don’t think 43 pints would be enough to stay up. though last year was 40 points, season before 41 (we had 39) and season before that was 54

          I can’t see anyone staying up with 43 pints!!![/quote]

May have to resort to downing 43 pints to cope with watching any more of the tripe.

What I cant get my head around with his tactics is that they must be completely foreign to him too no way he employed anything remotely like them at United.

Let me get this right then. With six minutes left of our must win game he takes our main attacking threat off to save him from fatigue?

Yep bet those extra six minutes would have feckin killed him

Totally disagree the players are not arsed they are just being totally stifled by the managers negative tactics.

I believe they are so much better than what they are being allowed to show.

Formations are irrelevant when we don’t support them. Central midfielders in wide positions and full backs that don’t get forward.

His double subs lifted everyone but then cancelled it all with the final one especially by employing the same tactic.

Hansen had all the right side to himself but never crossed the half way line. Why?
Must not get beat tactics in a must win game.

Since when did we start using wing backs? I see them more tow full backs who venture forward now and again but not enough. As flat a back four as you’d see.

Would have thought he’d have been on the bench if anywhere near.

What’s happened to Colclough and Daniels too, would have thought they’d have been a better option than some of those loanees we have got sat there at the moment?

Like others have said it wasn’t exactly two up front but it did work. Two attack minded players getting in the box. Went home for once feeling entertained.

I’m sure it will be one up top on Saturday.

Other issues for me is even though the two centre halves played well we do look very shaky defensively, maybe Bruce to organise mat be a better option.

The keeper after a decent first few games is now a worry. Maybe time to bring in the experience of Gilks.

Power and Jacobs still not contributing that much.

Why did Weir play on the left after looking so good on the right on Friday?

Yep, the tactic is picking up points away but one win in 8 is it at home proves we need a rethink. Joyce has us set up not to conceed and to be fair we look compact and well drilled but going forward we have very little. So frustrating.

Not necessarily the one up front is the issue its the non existent support from too many defensive midfielders. Hopefully Obertan and Wier who looked half decent may change that.

In full and total agreement Lowey. I would only add that after 10 minutes up against it and several consecutive corners for the opposition it was our chance to put some pressure on their defence, that Powers mindset was so worryingly defensive, equally worrying was Joyce taking off grigg, rather than utilising 2 strikers also defensive. The quality of our passing, corners and free kicks was poor what the hell do they do in training sessions.

I’m not sure it was a defensive mindset from Power just plain stupidity. You could say the senior pro McDonald was more to blame as when Max summonsed him he should have told him to get it in the effing box.

Very frustrating. Grigg was poor but Morsey was almost playing as a second forward so taking him off was madness when you need a goal
