I see it slightly differently to shit or bust unfortunately we are already literally bust. We have already stayed up legitimately however most of this team won’t be here next season we will field a load of the youth team, I suspect a few of the may leave as well but return on loan. League one actually may be a better learning curve for them and an exciting challenge for us to watch develop rather than being thrown to the slaughter of the championship. We may only be delaying our relegation if we somehow pull off the miracle and survive on Wednesday. I think the players know that too and are desperate to sign off as legend’s

That’s almost comical. Set of tossers

Strangely what seems like a bad set of results may prove good ones if Sheffield get 12 points deduction. We may then only need a point at best

Still waiting on the verdict for Sheffield Wednesday. Only got charged bin November, case independent panel sat early June. Now surely the EFL wouldn’t be waiting to see what points deduction wouldn’t matter would they?

Not sure whether the fact Luton play Hull is a good thing or not but I think it means no matter what happens on Saturday it will go to the last game at home to Fulhan

Beat Hull and Charlton we’ll be ok however today we should be celebrating being mathamatically safe today. Didn’t play well to be honest but certainly battled hard. I do still believe that we can overturn the point deduction as well.

The way I see it we’ve stayed up now. The team has performed a miracle by clawing themselves adrift at the bottom to mid table security. If the EFL then choose to relegated us and reward failure to a club potentially with 12 points less than us then so be it. They then need to justify how that protects the so called integrity of the league

That was embarrassing. If we’re taking them to court any half decent QC will have the judge putting his black cap on when Parry takes the stand.

Blamed the clubs that made the owners rules, blamed the fan who recorded him, blamed the new owners. EFL did nothing wrong but must improve? Everyone’s responsible if we go bust. Almost gave up half way through and just decided to agree but still not EFLs fault. Oh the other thing it’s not covids fault either

Hopefully an independent committee may be more lenient

A Club can appeal against a decision of the Board to impose a 12-point deduction under the EFL Regulation 12.3.10, and the appeal will be heard by an independent panel appointed by Sports Resolutions. That independent panel will determine whether the relevant Insolvency Event(s) arose

solely as a result of a Force Majeure event, caused by and resulted directly from circumstances, other than normal business risks, over which the Club could not reasonably be expected to have controlled

Read it carefully we wouldn’t be owned by lenegan. He can’t fund it on his own. He’s asking for local businesses to come forward to form a Wigan based partnership with both clubs under that as separate entities. That’s exactly what we need. Run by Wiganers. Got to be better than a poker playing conman.

Excellent articulate letter. Can I ask what is the legal if any obligation of the EFL to reply? Can they simply ignore it for there convenience.

Lisa Nandy also wrote an excellent letter which I believe that organisations are legally bound to reply to MPs.

I wonder what escalation process you have to force a reply?

The reason I am wary is there silence so far far bar the “Take that you ba$@4ds 12 points”

There lack of support not even a statement of intent to help makes a mockery of the clause quoted in your letter.

Indeed, the EFL Appendix 3 states that its intention is to “protect the image and integrity of The League and its competitions, the well-being of the Clubs, and the interests of all of the stakeholders in those Clubs”.

Good luck and continue to hound the buggers

I personally think we have a better chance of overturning the deduction on the force majeur clause. That way the EFL avoid any scrutiny. Also saves them the inevitable deduction for the clubs that will follow soon

Under EFL rules, clubs are permitted to appeal under the terms of a force majeure clause relating to circumstances that could be considered “unforeseeable and unavoidable”, which could yet apply in the case of Covid-19.

I know nothing about running a business not administration but this seems far to quick an option. We only had three more weeks to go then sort it out, why now after 3 months if surving lockdown? You hear of other clubs not paying wages surely s loan … Hello Mr Whean help would have been a better option.

Staying up is a minor issue now. Having a club is the bigger picture. I feel like I’ve just gone 12 rounds with Tyson. Battered and so gutted
