Thanks. TBH, I didnt expect anything else but abuse from the likes of SSB and Bullitt. They have no class, nor humility.

I won a few quid off sky bet last night when it was 12-1 for a Wigan win. It wasnt tongue in cheek either. The Sunderland squad is packed full of players with contracts expiring who have either played and failed at champ level, or never played at champ level and never will. Very few would have their contracts renewed if promoted and therefore by winning promotion, those same players are almost guaranteeing themselves to be out of a job come 1 June.

There is a massive rebuild at the SOL this summer, regardless of what division we start next season. The only difference is that we are now owned by a serious billionaire instead of a two-bit southern chancer who was only in it to flip a quick profit.

Have that ya turncoat bastard :yahoo:

At least my support isnt for the towns’ biggest rivals, unlike the scab that supports St Helens….

Good result for you guys. Hope you back it up with a win against Crewe on Saturday.

Rochdale beating Swindon was a big result at the bottom too. Means two of the four places are pretty much sorted. I’m sure Lincoln and Peterborough wont put in such a shit, cowardly performance against Bristol & Northampton like Sunderland did tonight.

Thats what you get though with a squad thats pretty much all out of contract in June and have 0% chance of another if promoted but 25% chance if they stay in L1.

Can we do a double over Sunderland?

No team has done the double over Sunderland yet and only one away defeat all season, averaging 2pts per game on the road (2nd best in EFL, only bettered by Norwich). 11 goals conceded away (best in EFL). 4 wins and 2 draws in last 6 away games.

Every stat going says comfortable away win, but stats are stats. Wigan will win tonight. ;-)

Interesting that you think 45-47 points will see you safe (unless of course you meant you are banking on 3pts on tuesday). Only once in the last 10 years has 45 points been enough to finish 5th bottom – its usually 50 and occasionally 51.

Also, your theory that Hull will be promoted and on the beach by 1 May equally means that Sunderland (and possibly Lincoln) will be resting their squads for the playoffs when they play Northampton & Wimbledon on the final day of the season.

One of those days Egg where if it could go wrong, it did, and the lack of specialist defenders available finally caught up with us – Max Power playing in a back 3 yesterday with a 21 year old loanee and Luke O’Nien who is an attacking midfielder. Charlton had a big, strong side and something to play for and there is a history of them beating Sunderland when it really matters. That said, their keeper Ben Amos was outstanding whilst Lee Burge reverted to type.

If you’ve got several 6’2 bulit like a brick shithouses and someone who can deliver a good setpiece, then we are a good side to play against at the moment!

Aside from muttys lads on Tuesday, we have the easier run in.

What about your trip to Hull?

Crewe, Shrewsbury & Burton have nothing to play for any more and you should be targetting those for 7-9 points. Swindon are utter cack and deserve to go down, and will probably be down by the time you play them.

10-12 points up for grabs there with a bit of extra effort, and without wanting to sound too harsh, if a side with everything at stake cant beat a side with nothing at stake in an end of season league fixture then they will get what they deserve. The results yesterday at Crewe, Doncaster & Accrington demonstrate that theory.

They have gone from promotion/playoff certainties to mid-table obscurity over the last month and have nothing left to play for.

Wish I’d stuck a few quid on my thoughts!

Crewe are also “on the beach”. That should be another 3pts towards safety.

He’s under contract at Wigan Athletic, if he’s fit then he is up for selection, the agent can do his leeching at the end of KJ’s contract, until then he’s a Latics player.

I think we saw with Ryan Fraser and Lyle Taylor that being under contract doesnt mean you’ll make yourself available to help your club escape relegation when the chance of a big payday is imminent.

Donny on Saturday would be a good time to start the revival. In terms of results over the last 5 games, its 24th v 23rd with just 3 points out of a possible 30 accrued. They have gone from promotion/playoff certainties to mid-table obscurity over the last month and have nothing left to play for.

I’d expect a bit of a revolving door with regards to player recruitment for 21/22. Lots of free agents coming in on 1-2 year deals with an option for a 2nd/3rd year in the club’s favour.

I listened to the Football Daily podcast with Micah Richards the other day. He was saying that coaching staff use so much stats these days its untrue. He also said that certain players used to make meaningless runs either in training or towards the end of a game so their stats would look better than they should.

Dont attend – buy a £10 pass instead.

You’ll be £190 better off that way as I’m sure the local constabulary will be issuing £200 fines for anyone who is stupid enough to show up.

One question, what the fuck as it got to do with you?

I have family and friends who live in Wigan that I havent been able to see since last September because thick fuckers like you keep congregating and spreading Covid. Over that time the infection rates in Wigan Central, Beech Hill, Marsh Green etc have been constantly 5-6 times higher than where I live.
