but as a fan I was no longer enjoying football. Turning up to games expecting to lose and when you give it a go you get shafted by officials. Players feining injury and basically cheating.
Something we can actually agree on here Egg!
Another bonus for you is more Sat 3pm kick offs and less midweek games having to be sandwiched into the season as you’ll play on international weekends.
Serious question. Did they do a parade to the fans after the game last Saturday? This photo http://www.wigantoday.net/sport/wigan-athletic/david-sharpe-we-ll-bounce-back-1-7234112 suggests they did, but not that many bothered to stay behind to applaud their piss-poor efforts.
And before you say it, I’m expecting a pretty hostile (but very much deserved) reception for my bunch of losers come May 12th at 5pm.
Who’s going ????You. Uberfan.
You really should direct your anger towards the two pillocks above who made sarcastic comments relating to attendances. My post merely pointed out that Rotherham will probably be on 44 points and safe come 29 April, and their appeal will be quietly withdrawn.
Good luck in your big game tomorrow. Ive stuck a few quid on a Wigan win at 2/1 safe in the knowledge those two pillocks wont enjoy a win so much knowing I’ve won a few quid!
They’ll decide whether to appeal after their next two games, by which case they will probably be back on 44 points by 10pm on Tuesday after they turn over a Reading side who have nothing to play for.
Chances of Wigan or Millwall being on 41 points by then….slim considering their next opponents.
Ah, but what will the crowd be
One more than if they’d been playing at the same time as your beloved Warriors.
and…
Plenty more than there’ll be next season when all those ST holders dont renew.

As much as it would delight me to see him gracing the left flank of the Sports Direct Arena, I doubt even Ashley would spend peanuts on someone who was found out very quickly in the Premier League, and his performances over the past 2 years haven’t indicated that he’d be any better than he was last time.
Hopefully, relegation clauses will still be standard at Wigan (they were when they were in the premier league), and McLean wont be earning a fortune as a 3rd division footballer. If they aren’t, then it wouldn’t surprise me to see him at somewhere like Celtic where the level of opponents and his political beliefs would make him a hit.
Egg came up with a name of two players (cant remember their names) – one who’d played once in a league cup tie and once in an end-of season game about 8 years ago, but this one is the first Wiganer to have scored for his home town club for many many years.
Pleasing to see a local lad playing for his local club. I hope he has many more days like yesterday.
Grant Holt’s goals kept Huddersfield in the 2nd division – maybe he’s worth voting for.
What, all two of them?
Thats twice the number of league goals Mark Fortune has managed in more than double the number of appearances….
However, if you feel strongly, then you could always visit:

Rugby + Football = Apples + Oranges, but it hasn’t stopped some on here comparing it for the past 7 years.
Seems like there’s a lot of tits around judging by your standards.
Less queues for the toilets at half time.
Going to a game expecting to win.
Less queues leaving the ground at full time.
Fortune may get a few goals.
Visiting places you’ve never been.
Less midweek games as you’ll play on international weekends.
Saturday 3pm kick-offs pretty much guaranteed.
Less trips to London for away games.
Not having Bolton as your rivals.
Still get a Weekender in Blackpool.
The probability of your cup win getting mentioned when the draw for the 1st round of the cup is made.
The possibility of it being televised if you are drawn away to a minnow. It’s more and more bemusing why you would want to compare the two clubs despite the facts remaining that you get fewer through the gate.Perhaps you should check who starts all these “Rugby attendance” threads (clue – its not me). In fact, I’ve never started an attendance thread at all.
I dont dispute that you get more through the gate on match days. What I do dispute is how many of those are PAYING home fans. We know that hundreds, if not thousands are given to local schools every week, and we know that there are far more visiting football fans have been coming to the DW for the past 10 years, yet you and your ilk constantly want to claim they are paying Wigan fans.
You really should concentrate on your own club’s on-field activities (such as when this long home record will be broken, or whether they will be relegated by Millwall, Brighton or Wolves, or even why they have appointed a universally unpopular player & captain as manager) rather than the off-field activities of another sport.
“Obsessed” and “chip on shoulder” spring to mind
2-2 not a bad result in Garry’s first game in charge I noticed the moan at owt brigade were out in force at 1-0 down jeez where do they get off :lol:Either:
You were busy checking your smartphone for comments instead of watching the game and urging your side on for an equaliser
or
You didn’t go and are stating it was a much better performance based on not actually seeing the game.
Either way, shame on you.
Their average crowd actually increased when they were relegated….
