Think Graham Oates might have been in that team as well

Anyway first match for me FA Cup 2nd replay at Old Trafford v Port Vale late 60’s – think it went to extra time and I think we lost to a last minute ish winner

First home game FA Cup v Peterborough when Temple scored a penalty winner near the end ish – 17,000 on

Graham Oates wasnt in the first Latics team i saw mate but he was another Latics gem

What baffles me with Whelan is he shafted Ray Mathias who was doing a great job and is supposedly ruthless yet he has given Bob more than enough chances. I still think his ego is getting in the way of him making the right decision and i wonder if he regrets telling the world that Martinez is the best young manager going.

Apparently, Mick Jagger has a home in the same village where Jon Moss lives. Jagger is attending the game this weekend as a guest of Randy Lerner. The referee asked if Jagger could pick him up and give him a lift to the game but he said he can’t because a rolling stone gathers no moss.

    WHYMAN ;)

Happiest times as a Latics fan have been spent in the lower leagues so for me its a no-brainer. Being a Prem club is a magnificent achievement but the fun isnt there when you fail to win week after week and for me also i miss the competing. The chance of a promotion and the euphoria it brings being up there with a chance of glory. Ive had so many celebrations being a fan of this brilliant little club and i miss them.

My first ever game watching football was Liverpool v Man City when players like Tommy Lawrence, Roger Hunt played this was due to the fact that my dad was an egg chasing gob shoite who never went to a footy match so someone took me instead. A few years later when i was old enough to go on my own i went to watch my local club one evening after school. I became hooked immediately and had no choice in who was my team, Liverpool and City didnt stir me whatsoever but Wigan Athletic grabbed me by the heart the throat and the bo..ox and have had hold of me ever since. As for the glory hunters well my club has given me more glory than most fans will ever experience so i dont give a toss.

it was a record score for a non-league team to win away at a league club not sure if it still stands.

Why not Russia they have never had it we have? All this dont qualify on purpose rubbish, have you watched England lately? We might not get ther cause were kack. Also all this fifa will be desperate for us to be there, i dont think so, one of the most succesful competitions financally was USA 94 we didnt get there. The rest of the world think were s hite, they couldnt give toss if were there or not.

For your information until a few fears ago i was an England member and went to as many games as possible and to compare USA 94 with Russia is bloody laughable. If they had won the vote fairly nobody would have minded but the result was known before the envelope was opened. If your quite happy with the outcome then your entitled to your opinion but so am I and I cant stand the thought that Blatter has got one over on us albeit crookedly. As for them not giving a toss if were there in 2018 “are you sure”? Who takes the numbers England do no matter where they play? Im sure the South Africans were quite pleased we spent a few quid during the World Cup. We spent over 300 million trying to win the right to stage the tournament and put on the best bid but we were never gonna win it coz we didnt hand any brown envelopes out under the table. You may be happy with that mate but i certainly aint.

Wrexham F A cup away seventies, it s all kicking off bigtime and im only a kid then a bloody massive Welshman picks me up and throws me onto the pitch and tells me to run to other side of ground to get away from the scrapping.

I think you will find the Police have the games called off on an health and safety issue if the streets around the stadium are bad. Of course we could ask the players to get the shovels out.
