Why on Earth does the writer feel the need to bring rugby league into it? ‘Ticket sales almost up there with a minority sport.’
Always baffles me how the same folk who say crowd sizes aren’t important then mock and deride other clubs, even other sports, about theirs.
At the end of the day what does the fact that people were dancing in the streets and partying tell you ! The woman was despised and to spend in excess of £10mill of tax payers money on her funeral is quite simply the biggest piss take I have seen yet !Even more so than the millions thrown at footballers?
Whelan is entitled to his opinion, but he shouldn’t think for one minute he can tell people what to do.
I don’t think it would reflect badly on Wigan, just Latics. Despite the best efforts of some, this is still a democracy where we have the right to express out views in public (with obvious exceptions). If you want to boo, whistle or observe the minute’s silence, go for it.
I just don’t think we have enough people in wigan ,who like latics, to sell anywhere near 25,000.the ordinary folk of wigan who have no allegiance to latics, should at least support their town.they ought to be ashamed to call themselves wiganers.Do you lend your support to any of the town’s other sporting sides, like a ‘proper Wiganer’?
You don’t get points or prizes for crowd size remember. As a committee member of the Wigan Athletic Supporters’ Club once said, “our supporter base has grown phenomenally over the last 15 years. If you go back in history our crowds have gone from 1,200 to 15,000.” Quite a few clubs need their glory hunters.
VAT, I think our humour-bypassed friend was talking to me. But I wouldn’t worry about him; I’m not.At last! Someone gets it.

‘Jeffrey Bruma was due to undergo a hernia operation today while Kakuta has a back injury – but Jose Bosingwa has resumed training and could return to action in two to three weeks.‘
I stood for the remaining 20 minutes last week, because I definitely wasn’t blocking anybody’s view of the game — my section was completely empty for three rows up!
For shame, people! You should only leave early if you’re on fire, your car is on fire, or your wife is in labour (and/or on fire), and even then that’s only because it’s a no smoking venue! :)Never understood it myself either, but the fact is that some folk leave early whatever the situation. The ‘to avoid the traffic’ excuse always makes me laugh as we usually get to the pub while they’re still waiting for their first pint.
21 August 2010 at 1:25 am in reply to: what would an ‘acceptable’ margin of defeat be on saturday? #43437Will call in at the bookies tomorrow to check the prices on 2-2, Boselli anytime scorer and Latics/Draw double chance.
Just when I ‘nearly’ despair on this board, my mind is rescued.
Freud was right when he coined the name “narcissism”.
Poor, poor klumps………….Nache is credited as being the first to use the term ‘narcissism’ you ignorant retard.
Your pal Freud argued that narcissism is an essential part in normal development. The love of the parents for their child and their attitude towards their child could be seen as a revival and reproduction of their own narcissism according to Freud.
Don’t blame me if you didn’t get any love from you parents or can reproduce that with your own children.
Get off your high horse, you miserable get. Who appointed you comedy tsar?
Taking morality lessons from a klump fan from Pem? I don’t think so, mate.Easy tiger. Free speech and all that, just that I personally wouldn’t crack a holocaust joke.

Will be having Latics win/draw double chance. No… I’m Spartacus!
I went to. I was sat next to Charlton Heston.
You went to what? Or you went to where?[/quote]
Can’t tell you. It’s a secret only to be shared with other super fans. Come back when you’ve been following the team for thirty two years ;)Maybe if they had dedicated standing areas, we’d get a few more ex fans back and a better atmosphere. Wasn’t something like this discussed a few months back by the football league?Doesn’t that contravene Premier League and Football Association rules though?
