That’s cheap compared to the rest of the Prem and plenty of Championship clubs.
We’re talking about the best league in the most popular sport on the planet. We are far from your typical Premiership or Championship club, what the rest do doesn’t apply.
We should have South stand only offers giving each adult ticket holder two junior tickets for £1. If the scheme is popular extend it to the East stand wings, if demand oustrips supply, the club can then consider offering ticket prices inline with the rest.
What’s the difference?Kirkland 8
boyce 7
caldwell 7
bramble 8
fig 6- learn to jump when going for an header
n,zogbia 10
diame 7
mcarthey 8- pity he had to go off
sharner 6 shocking 2nd half, we play in blue sharner
hugo 7 would have been 10 if that overhead had gone in
scotland 7 best game so far for me, must go forward more, stop the sideways whale when on the attackThe worrying thing is that I can see both N’Zogbia and Rodallega going in the summer should someone offer Whelan a decent price. How much of that will then go into the squad?
Just got back, Woeful again. We have to be going down. Martinez has not got a bloody clueNot a chance. Best thing happened to Latics this year was Burnley giving Laws a job.
Pompey are already down and ‘Irish’ Mick is doing a sterling job of keeping Wolves right in the brown stuff.10 February 2010 at 12:34 am in reply to: 32 Quid toneet for a Dad and Lad…….THATS THE PROBLEM! #22126That’s cheap compared to the rest of the Prem and plenty of Championship clubs.
We’re talking about the best league in the most popular sport on the planet.16,000 on tonight. Any idea how many Stoke brought?
With all the banter between Latics fans and egg fans I just wonder if the egg owners have a clue. Who owns the chuckers anyway? Have they any allegiance to Wigan at all? Would you not think if the football club were such small fry they would not want to get away from us especially with us being their landlords etc. I just think they would want the independance from Latics in their own stadium , if not for anything else but their self respect.Wigan Rugby are owned by Wiganer Ian Lenaghan. He’s a Scholes lad and a lifelong fan. The rugby are skint as are most rugby clubs and there’s no way they’ll get their own place (remember it’s a minority sport and doesn’t get millions from Sky, sponsorship etc.)
Tell me about it, i was in the poacher yesterday for the derby and there they were in their Liverpool and Everton tops. Most have never seen, nevermind been to the grounds. There was however a little lad in a Wigan top which put a smile on my face and i think he had a scouse background as he continually tryin to pick pocket his dad
So yeah, wigan fans are hard to come by in my neck of the woods and i cant see it changing in the futureWhy go in the ‘Scouser’? It’s an awful pub.
”Wigan is a rugby town”…..lets firstly put that complete and utter bowlocks to bed, they won everything for 10 years (and could do again) and didn’t/wouldn’t average 15,000 home fans.
As for our support (and theirs), I think the poor attendances at both clubs is down to sheer laziness on many people’s parts (sit at home or in pub watching it on TV.
However, I think the main problem is that a generation of fans has been spoiled with success (that lot winning everything for years) and us climbing the leagues. Now I think a lot of people have unrealstic expectations, they expect to win everything every year and some of our fans think if we’re not going to challenge for Europe every year then we’ve failed.
As I’ve said before, I wonder if some people in Wigan deserve the opportunity to watch Premier League football at lower division pricesIs it fair to compare a regionalised, minority sport like rugby league and a global, front to back page monster like football though?
Wigan is a rugby town.
Is it? :?
Sarcasm is to deep for some people
Yep, and thanks for giving us a perfect example.Wigan is a rugby town.Is it? :?
Portsmouth are down so it’s a case of two from six in my opinion and Latics will finish above Wolves, Burnley, Hull, Bolton and West Ham.
written by a man from the outside, Paul Wilson is from Wigan and is an eggchaser with a passion for hating Wigan Athletic.Wrong. He’s actually the only Evertonian in a family of Liverpool and Wigan Athletic supporters.
