I’m with retiredfan on this one.
Faubert can add some much needed competition to that right side, especially after it seems that Stam is getting shoe-horned out of the club.
As much as i love Boycey and all he has done for us, i think it will be next season where we see a slight decline in his performances.
Faubert (although another sulky Frenchmon) was not so long ago deemed good enough to play for Real Madrid and comes on a free. Fits the bill well i feel.
And i agree with your comment on his crossing ability. I seem to remember him whipping in an absolute peach at Upton Park not that long ago against us, from which i think Guillermo Franco dipped his bread. I could be wrong on that though?
Aye Hughes might be a long shot but cant see any harm in giving him a (large-ish monetary wise) contract until the end of the season.
Seem to remember Whelan dipping into his pocket when he wanted Bruce so you never know.

To sell arguably our most consistent performer over the past two seasons for £1 million to a club you have to regard as a rival in the league table is nothing short of disgusting business. The lad even has 3 years or so remaining on his contract.
