Its not clear from their website whether the clubs havent agreed terms or whether its us and Ruben. I thought Villareal had already stated they’d agreed terms on their website, so it could be that we cant agree terms with the player, in which case thats probably the end of it.

I dont know how to copy and paste likny things but if ya go on newsnow, it s the atricle on the Villareal page from earlier in the day. Translate that and it says how the clubs haven’t agreed but still not dead.

Going on one of them translation thingys, it seems its a disagreement in valuation between the two clubs but the quote from Villareal is that the deal is not dead.

Seems as though Villareal have given us permission to speak with him to which we have agreed terms with Ruben. But then when it has come to putting meat on the bones between the two clubs, it has stalled.

Hopefully only a minor blip and it can be resolved soon enough.

Just listened the interview with him on LaticsPlayer. Spoke very well of the club and how much he’s looking forward to being here. Cant help but think this mon should be immediately placed as Captain instead of Mario.

Caldwell has been Captain at Celtic which some may argue aint that big of a deal up in Scotland, but by playing for them up there you have to have some backbone in you.

I think he will turn out to be a very good signing indeed, and like Pompey who immediately made Browny their Captain, i think we should do the same here.

Arsenal and Stoke were after signing him last January but he had not long been at Monchleeebbb…… (can’t spell the name) so didn’t move. He hasn’t signed a new contract although he was offered and has agreed to join us. He more than likely knew about the interest in him before he ran out of contract hence the reason he didn’t agree but he was a started up until leaving and Barnsley were interested in him on a free but then again if we were interested in Drogba does that make him a bad player? The fact he may have snubbed Barnsley tells you they may just have been punching above their weight. 3 goals in 2 appearences for Ivory Coast.

alex_wigan and (in)famous knowledge on Latics transfers yet again.
Sorry to spoil it again mate, but Gohouri was fooked off by Mochengladbach, not that his contract run out and he left cos he got wind that Latics might be after him.

As it was raised earlier in this post, if he is that good of a signing a) why is he not at the African Nations b) why did the arsenals and stokes of this world not chellenge us for him.

Sorry mate – it aint gonna happen.

There’s nowt more to be said.

    in reply to: Diame #5957

I’ll have what your saying mate and it does seem plausable, but it aint gonna happen.

    This deal is a non-starter.

I’m not saying it’s going to happen, i’m simply stating that Martinez was interested and monitored the situation (if the lad is actually Negredo) according to a guy who is/knows someone close to the club.[/quote]

Now you’re saying if indeed it is Negredo we’re actually after !! It could be anyone from Madrid.

Check one of your earlier posts and you say from your source that it IS Negredo we’re after and heard it from a number of sources now!

    Come on man, get real.

You may never have seen the lad play, but you know he is a Madrid striker that nearly went to Hull for over £10 million. That is what your basing your judgement on.

You’d have been better off saying “why dont we try and go for Negredo” instead of telling us that some bloke has told you we’re interested. Then backtracking saying crap like “the lad aint interested”.

Tuncay has gone on loan to a foreign club, am I right?

    Or he’s close to agreeing?

I think you can give that transfer a miss but this Negredo saga is being dragged on and I believe Bobby’s trying to get him at Wigan. Heard this from a few people and 1 very reliable guy who is/knows one of Whelan’s right hand men. I don’t know him myself and it’s not the friend of a friend sh*t some people come out with.

The guy was genuine and didn’t mention any names but did say Martinez is in talks with Madrid for a striker. Put 2 and 2 together and it has to be Negredo right? Can’t see it being Raul or Van Nistelrooy.

The Negredo talk is all gash! Fact!

I know your post is more out of hope rather than having some ‘inside knowledge’.

The thing that frightened me the most tonight was just how many headers we lost hence, the goal.

Absolute 110% credit to McCarthy and his team who did exactly what he said of them which was to close us down all over the park and play it high.

It really wouldnt surprise me if we lost by more goals against a team like Stoke than Man U purely down to aggression and aerial bombardment.

The stroking it across the back four time and time again said it all for me tonight – no plan B.
