Apparently the Spanish still want to complete the deal.I don’t think this saga is ever going to end.Trouble is it’s the fans who are suffering the most. Then again ,I don’t think the admin or EFL really care .
What a club ! we have to save it .
Trouble is if he owns the stadium he will put up more of a fight.Like the essential pitch maintenance in the summer, can’t see him agreeing to that one .Anyway I am going to bask in the glory of our great win at Sunderland with a couple of glasses of red .The actual football has almost become an irrelevance with all that’s going on off the pitch. At least it’s boosted the spirits for a few hours .
I assume you are talking about the Rugby ,yes things will remain the same as the EFL games will take priority, right ?
I hope so Egg .If both clubs are treated as equals I have absolutely no issues.
You can see what he has done to the Robin Park arena to know what the DW will look like if he gets his hands on it.
A state of the art facility?
The DW is already a state of the art facility ,just needs sprucing up a bit.In blue red and white. Not just red and white.
Its time for the guys mouthing it off in the wings to come forward yesterday and put an offer in.
Admin need to end exclusivity with the Spanish and re-open the sale for any new bids. These are desperate times and desperate measures are needed.
Its looking like we will go down, there’s not enough time to sell the club then do business in the Jan window. Although we’re trying hard were not good enough to stop up.Well said ,let’s see if these new bidders are genuine. We will know then where we stand. This needs to happen in days not weeks.
The problem with Lenegan is that he stupidly put a bid in for the stadium and this destroyed the little trust the Latics fans had in him.You can see what he has done to the Robin Park arena to know what the DW will look like if he gets his hands on it.
Agree with you there Egg ,however ,the Spanish joined this process fairly late in the day where it appeared no one else was interested. These new bidders had ample opportunity to submit their bid before the Spanish .
I think they are getting stick because the fans are being kept in the dark. They are representing us and are a target for people venting their frustrations. The news yesterday virtually guarantees our relegation and possibly our existence yet still the process carries on at a snails pace.No one is foolish enough to suggest the EFL just pass them but why has it taken them so long ?Meanwhile Lisa Nancy thinks it’s good news as we can now move forward ,is she having a laugh ?If any new bidders had the genuine interests of Wigan Athletic at heart they would have put their bid in months ago .
Bit harsh Mr Barlow ,I’ve got feelings you know !I take your point but why does everything in business have to be as clear as mud ? It’s infuriating.
Sorry Egg , I still don’t get it ( must be my age ).I understand the selling of Euxton and the chippy but if Company A and Company B are both bought by the Spanish then Latics new owners will own the stadium. If they own the stadium why do they have to pay rent ? Maybe it’s a point the Spanish have been making !
What I don’t get is that you are saying Latics don’t actually own the stadium but the administrators insisted any new owner must buy the club and the stadium they were not prepared to separate them.If this is not the case what exactly are they buying ?
Well they rightly should have to with the pittance of rent they been paying for yrs.
Both clubs pay the same “pittance of rent”
I think this is a key point.Latics will own the stadium but are expected to pay the same rent.I don’t get it.
The problem is the longer this goes on the more it’s going to affect our long term future.Certain local parties might be happy with that outcome and will keep it going for as long as it takes. We need it resolving this week ,no excuses !
