IF we get into europe, maybe a lot of out of contract players might stay, as the likes of west ham wont be offering european football next season.

Indeed, it would sure put to rest the debate about if are inability to attract top players has been down to Crowds, Footballing position i.e. position in league and cups or money money money.

Are there many like me who have no real connection to the town?

When I was a wee nipper my sister who is older than me started seeing a wiganer who took me to a few games at Springfield Park.

The first I think was Fulham which was Keegan’s first match in charge of them.

Despite getting elbowed in the head and nearly knocked unconcious when we scored I fell in love with the team.

The only information I could get my hands on back then was a small snippet in the Manchester Evening News…

So I had to get creative and probably used Championship Manager as my main source of knowledge for the team and players coupled with buying the Cockney Latic fanzine from a sports memrobilia shop in Manchester City Centre.

Despite being born a Man U fan I have never looked back since.

I still have a soft spot for them but that turns to burning hatred when they do things like put a shit team out against West Ham on the last day of the season when we stayed up V Sheffield Utd or Potenitally fuck up our European hopes by going out of the cup V Chelsea.

There are thousands of kids like me round Manchester who I am sure if taken to a Wigan game would fall in love just like I did.

How you convince their parents who cant even be arsed to go watch their own teams to take them though is another problem in itself.

Why have they fucked up our European chances by getting beat by Chelsea ?
“potentially” as Chelsea could get to the final V us and drop out of the qualifying spots in the league…

If it was Utd V City we would be (within reason) guaranteed qualification as runner up.

Joel has to stay in for me based on his distribution of the ball alone.

Hopefully he is teaching Ali how to kick a ball during training for next season.

After Holloway left he got little to no playing time under Appleton.

Appleton said he wanted to keep him but we werent happy with his recent playing time.

He got a game under his belt for us V Macclesfield (albeit he was racially taunted by some of there mongy fans by the tunnel) and dint do that bad.

If he gets some game time and a few goals for Wolves I would say this season has panned out well for him.

    in reply to: Beausejour #107684

If Beausajour was any better with his crosses and could beat a man he would be at a top club no doubt.

If Gomez did some of the magical things he does every game and didnt get occasionally caught day dreaming he would be at a top club.

If Kone scores any more goals he could end up at a top club.

If Di Santo could finsh & head a ball he would be at a top club.

Do you see the trend here?

The closer we get the more I think we will have a chance of winning this.

Dave’s positivity over the last couple of weeks is testament that anything really can happen!

I was told Saturday afternoon before the Norwich we’d sold 18k. That was before tickets had been released for general sale. The guy who told me mentioned it was from a good source.

Then you’re “good” source is shite. Nowhere near 18k sold
Get that edited before the the grammar police get on to you.

Is there another word for “thesaurus”?

    Lexicon

Let him go if you ask me because his petulant tunnel exits are getting banal now !

I could say the same about your platitudinous comments regarding the club and players.

    in reply to: tackle #107559
He wins the ball fully whilst Callum went over the top of the ball. Callum’s tackle was worse ! On the other hand there does appear to be some intentional follow through and so this is also a red card offence !

I think you’re being a bit harsh on Henderson!

Most people would follow through after being on the receiving end of that tackle.

I,m just meaning his demeanor in general, he doesn,t seem part of a tight knit squad

At the risk of being labeled a racist, I think most Argentinians are like that.

19 March 2013; Franco Di Santo insists he is happy to remain with relegation-threatened Wigan, despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.

The former Chelsea man is happy with Wigan’s progress this season and wants to be a key part of Roberto Martinez’s plans at the DW Stadium.

I am sure all of them will be happy to stay.

Providing we give them a pay rise ;)

I’m with the angry ape above Alcaraz should be priority as was Maloney earlier in the season.

The cheeky lone banana and dig at Whelan’s media credentials can be forgiven.

I remember when we first come up and everyone I spoke to was genuinely pleased of what we had achieved but nowadays it seems everyone has it in for us small and big clubs alike.

Jealousy is a bitter disease that can eat up a person :P

    Martinez seems to like Scots.

    You’re not wrong fella!

He is married to a bonnie scottish lass too isnt he?

If I was the Scottish FA I would keep offering the job to Martinez throughout his career as no other fecker can get them to play.
