Why were people booing Gomez after the first 10 minutes?!
Bar the few bad touches that he had early on he was our best player! I’ve always liked him and it is there for all to see that he has class, and now it is his time to show it, as he did on Saturday!
Even in the first half I thought he played well, me and the guy at the side of me (Which I believe to be Scoffy??) were somewhat bemused by the boos at him, it is absolutely ridiculous!
All in all, a well fought performance and thouroughly deserved the 3 points!!
Keep The Faith!
Probably :
Because 1 game doesnt make him a good player
Correct
Because he is shite
No he isn’t
Because he drives us mad with his slow, backward facing game
No, he drives you mad
Because we expected it to be the same shite he normally serves up
Again, you expect it to be so because of your pre-conceived opinion of him
Because if you pay your money, you’re entitled to boo ( not that its right,i never have )
Yes you are, but that doesn’t mean it helps anybody except perhaps the person doing the booingI wonder who the new whipping boy is going to be then?
Watson is out of contention for a couple of months so perhaps it will be Jones, Stam or Lopez if they get a run in the team. Maybe Beausejour, he’s been vying for that top spot for a while now.
My money is still on Jordi though. A couple of misplaced passes on Wednesday or not making an effort for that 70-30 ball in favour of the opponent and his hat-trick will soon be forgotten. :dry:Sorry I am not as old as you Sudders really you sureAsk him if he can drive a coach!
That Bob Holness played saxophone on Gerry Rafferty’s song, Baker Street.
Roughly a £2mill profit based on buying and selling from what I can see ! No biscuits there then !
Edit- Just checked properly and it is £1.75mill profit since joining Prem if those figures are correct !
That’s only £750,000 profit if you believe Roberto’s story that Whelan used £1m of his own money to help but Ramis.
Well who stumped up the rest then !!
Senior moment!

Very often find exactly the same words in match reports across a spread of papers. Quite often they use agency reports.
I’m not questioning RM or the coaching staff’s judgment here for the very obvious reasons you’ve mentioned. I just think that to throw him on with 5 or 10 minutes to go isn’t doing him any favours, especially when the team is perhaps not set up to get the best out of him.
I’m trying my best to like Di Santo but there’s something about him that is annoying. He comes across as a bit of a smart-arse and seems too ready to have a go at his team mates when he is equally at fault with poor decision making and finishing. Beausejour is very often the butt of his whinging for reasons I cannot always fathom.
I also think Boselli deserves a chance and passing judgment on him after coming off the bench for the last 5 minutes of a game, as is usually the case, is hardly fair.
On the occasions I have seen him play, the last time against Bradford, he does seem to have the knack of getting himself into goal-scoring positions. The fact that he hasn’t been scoring could be down to confidence which can’t be helped by throwing him on at the death when a goal is needed and him hardly seeing the ball.
With respect to Di Santo I’m not convinced about his temperament. He sulks too much and spat his dummy out again on Saturday when he was brought off, brushing aside Graeme Jones “suggestion” to go sit on the bench by walking straight down the tunnel.
Both shite.Next…
Thank you for your well constructed and incisive response.
So what do you suggest the club should “next” do about it then?
Did you go to Spurs on Saturday sudworth? If you did I thought we were going to arrange to meet up to say hello?
sudworth!
It is a form of begging of course but back in my day the excuse for trying to scrounge money off people was “penny for the guy”, which was so much better because the begging wasn’t confined to the one night.
It is amusing though to see the look of disappointment on their faces when you give them a Mars Fun Size instead of money.
Immense todayEnough said
I wouldn’t say his performance could be described “immense”. He had a very good game – as did the rest of the team – but should have done much better with the two good chances he had, one in the first half when a poor touch let him down and that right at the end with a one-on-one with the keeper. Had they gone in then yes, his performance could have been described as immense.
A wise choice.
Better the sound system you know, eh Bicky? :)
