Having gone to the game on Sunday I met up with a few friends inside the ground. I’m a season ticket holder and sit between ES2 and ES3 towards the middle of the stand. Some friends were down from London and being neutral footy fans decided to come along and watch the game. In order to sit with them we sat a few rows from the front between ES2 and ES3 where there were spare seats.
Midway through the second half it would appear that the pocket of fans behind us got bored with the game and turned all of their attentions to a Tottenham fan waving a fan in the away end. He appeared to be mixed race. The following is just a selection of comments that I heard bellowed from behind me by a pocket of moron’s;
F**k OFF BACK TO YOUR CORNER SHOP
F**K OFF BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY
F**K OFF TERROISTI could go on but I won’t. Make no mistake, this wasn’t the odd comment muttered under someone’s breath. These comments were shouted over and over and over again by so called grown “men”, so called Latic’s fans shouting as loud as they could – not giving a damn about what was happening on the pitch.
Believe you me i’m no prude but the behaviour displayed by these fan’s was disgusting. I felt embarrassed and ashamed.
How can we expect to improve attendences when you invite people along and they have to listen to endure this. There was a chap infront of me who had brought his family and children to the game. He was disgusted too, turning round on several occassions to tell them so. He told me he wouldn’t be coming to another game again.
I know this is a minority and thankfully we’re not all like this.
I hope the moron’s responsible read this and feel a twinge of shame. Where do you think we would be if all the foreign players in our team “F**KED” off back to their country?
The club can do without you and your £250. Moron’s.

More recent times 2 trips to Crewe have been called of around a hour before kick off. I remember going to the one the day after Boxing day been on a 3 day bender :D and got the 10 o’clock train. When we got to the ground to get it confirmed that the match was off the stewards wouldnt even let us in there supporters club for a pint. :(
Look out the window now, it wouldnt put me off going.
And why mention that you have been watching them for 27 years what exactly has that got to do with anything.
I went to the ticket office at about 1pm today – it was shut ! I got the tickets I needed online but surely it’s worth paying a couple of staff to keep it open the day before a game, especially when it’s a game on Sky, after coming home from my wasted journey I was almost tempted to say forget it, I’ll just watch it on TV, no doubt some people will.Not being funny but it does clearly state on the the official website the ticket office opening times

How can you miss out Drewe Broughton (on loan from Norwich?) Came on with about 3 minutes to go missed a dead easy chance and im sure he got substituted again.

I am a lover of a good football song something that the muppets in ES2 just cant grasp. Take a catchy and well known tune and put some words to it not take somebody elses song and change a few words.
Some of my favourites are the one that West Brom sing to the tune of the lords my shepard, Man Utd U-N-I-T-E-D,united are the team for me. liverpools field of anfield road and Millwalls come down to the den.
I thought of changing the words to Jerusalem a while ago but for the life of me cant think of anywords, i was never good at anything like that. Me and my lad have been singing Oh Jason Scotland since we bought him but couldnt think of anything else.
The other season just before that latics text thing started (not had anything of them for ages) i went around ES2 and ES3 with a couple of songs printed out on paper, i must have handed out about 200. Both songs were took of people who had posted on here but because there was more than 2 lines and didnt repeat themselves nobody could get grasp it.
Good luck with the Jerusalem one. Do you not fancy meeting for a pint and we can see if there is owt else we can come up with.

Olivier Kapos’ move to French side Bolougne was last night thrown into doubt after ice & snow threatened to delay the Latics’ strikers flight from Liverpool airport to complete the transfer.Fortunately 15,000 people, ironically wearing Wigan Athletic colours, arrived at the airport to assist with the removal of the ice & snow!!! ;)
