I see Maurice was still spouting self-centred s***e, even about another rugby league club – “cashing in” and “I’m against it”.
What an obnoxious **** he is. No wonder even people in rugby league don’t like him.
David Cotterill’s been released by Swansea :S
Isn’t the point though that no matter how many are actually in the stadium, a “worldwide audience” (to quote you) will be watching the Latics.
When was the last time a “worldwide audience” watched rugby league. Not just Wigan Warriors, but ANY rugby league?
I shouldn’t need to explain this.
He was saying that every man saw it was a penalty – but she didn’t because she was a woman. If he’d just moaned (as he usually does) that the officials were incompetent that would have been OK. To then be dismissive about “lineswoman or whatever she’s called” just adds to the issue. He could have stuck with “assistant referee”.
The problem for us is that I’ve just heard a small feature on Five Live about this, and comment was made that Mike Newell a few years ago had said that there was no place for women in football. The presenter said “Mike Newell of course played with Paul Jewell at Wigan Athletic”.
From Google:
No results found for “wigan warriors” site:bola.okezone.comread that a few days ago, tickled me…..Yep – when I posted it in this thread two days ago :cheer:
I really like Newsthump. Today has http://newsthump.com/2012/01/10/liverpool-set-to-re-sign-ian-rush-on-short-term-loan/ with a great comment about Ron Atkinson :)
Perhaps because it isn’t pleasant for anyone else around at the time – families with kids etc – and maybe it’s better to be safe than sorry and avoid it happening at all
How would you define worse ever result. I agree losing a playoff final changed my view on football more than a cr*ppy fa cup game did.Why does anything have to be “worst ever” or “best ever” even?
Results are either good (at the time) or bad (at the time). Or even in retrospect.
Losing 3-1 to Man United years ago seemed nothing more than expected. But in retrospect the penalty by Baines affected our goal difference which helped keep us up.
Drawing against someone when we should have won could have disastrous effects later.
What I do know is that being the losing party to a “Cup shock” is a long way from being our worst result ever.
As I intimated above – all things considered I think losing 4-1 at home to Sunderland was a worse result.
Losing 2-1 to a Fourth Division team while fielding a second string is certainly embarrassing, cause for concern (or at least discussion), a bit of a wake-up call.
But worst result EVER???

It’s only 9 days in, but i am confident there will not be a more ridiculous post all year...but there will be many attempts.
However – I don’t think in the greater scheme of things that it’s actually our worst result this year (ie 2012)
Yes – and the follow up that went in was our 1 shot on target – 100% :)
Because that’s just what we need now, isn’t it?
No manager, and presumably Graeme Jones in charge over a crucial few weeks with the transfer window open.
I’m not actually saying in any way that Roberto is doing OK – there are obvious problems that need addressing. But him going now, without any clear replacement lined up (and I mean actually lined up, not just speculated on here with “he wud be gud”), would certainly seal our fate.
We need to get behind the team and the manager – calling him “sp@nish mon” and “imbecile” is not the way to do it.
I’ll just point out that Moses played today which means he is now cup-tied. Less value, and therefore unlikely to be sold.

The phrase being sought is “managing expectations”.
