Yes, I went to too many crap games last season and now I just think apart from Blackpool away last season is best forgotten. :silly:
Whoaaaaaa … I got a response!! Poor old Emlyn!
Isn’t it Emyr Huws?
Emlyn Hughes was “Crazy Horse” :)
I do think we should sign him, John, it’s just that we shouldn’t bankrupt the club or spend all our budget on one player – which is what some people are saying on social media.
Mind you – I did have to laugh at one comment (not Wildschut related) by a lad whose profile is full of Latics badges and photos of himself in various Latics’ kit poses – who posted on Saturday “Oh – I didn’t realise we were at home today”.
My son, who is also a fine chap may I say, was a bit annoyed at me for criticising Wildschut on Saturday.
He has certainly been stunning in a few games, but I am not quite sure he is the Messiah. Against Bradford he was pretty well marked out (although that did give Perkins, Jacobs and Power space to move) and although fast against Swindon I was disappointed in the finish a tad at times.
Is he a good player? Yes of course
Should we try to get a permanent deal? Yes – and we have a good chance with him being here
Is he the solution to every problem in the World? No
Should we (as I have seen said on various social networking sites) “break the bank” to get him? My own view is no. One player is not the answer -we are doing so well because we have a team all pulling together. I would like to see him perform time and time and time again. And I do realise that this is two threads in a row that I’ve (sort of) agreed with Tez – I promise it won’t happen again.
Will second this, go often. A great cheap break from League football. The standard isn’t too bad either.
St Helens Town share the ground too.http://www.ashtonathletic.co.uk/teams/68512/fixtures-results

I think Grant Holt inadvertently tells us all we need to know in this prank!Bit of a different set-up at the club now
Grigg and Wildschut?
It is perhaps as well Gary prefers the one out and out striker optionDoes he?
Not when I spoke with him he didn’t.
Time for him to move on.The point of course is that he is only on loan for 2 months – when he would have been unlikely to feature much for us. Let him get fit somewhere else off our wage bill, and be available for us to consider bringing him back if we need him for the second half of the season push.
Good riddance, to one of the biggest flops this club has ever had… A very expensive burden to the club, just hope Wolves pay his full wages. You’re saying he was worse than Aghahowa, Fortune, Boselli… et al?
Principles have their place but have a read of this:

They are so high and mighty that they have decided they will not sell-out to modern football by moving away from 3pm Saturday, so ask another club who asked, for good reasons to change a date, and who financially struggles “We will be contacting Barwell to request that they reimburse FC United fans who may be out of pocket due to this change”.
Well tough t***y, FCUM. S**t happens – get over it. Who do you think you are? (I think we know the answer to that).
But – oh look! FA Cup tie at home v Buxton – on SUNDAY 11 October. I know that because of other events they had to, but then Barnwell’s request doesn’t seem so outlandish, does it?
I dislike the real plastics intensely. Does it show?
Precisely.
No other teams played non-league before they came along.
Love to know what their fans will do if the Glazers leave.I’d quite like FCUM and really put them in their place

“…following a three month suspension after having been caught playing Sunday league football for an amateur side…”
Donnyspage got it all spot-on :)
