Nobody likes a pay cut, but these players had better beware, the more clubs that go to the wall, the less chance they have of getting a decent wage for playing football.
The clubs that do survive, even at non-league level, will have a huge pool of players to choose from, the ones that don’t get a contract will have to play in the local amateur league.
Hopefully, when the PL implodes on-itself, the EFL will have to go begging,
cap-in-hand to the NWCL.This Covid-19, will bankrupt a lot of League and Non-League clubs,
clubs cannot survive without a regular income and (paying fans).Since we are sharing the Stadium with the Warriors and possibly the same owner IL,
what about Springfield & Central Park Stadium, with more signage for both clubs,
which has been sadly lacking with a pathetic DW sign stuck on with NO-Nails.It works at the KCOM Stadium (Hull) with Hull City FC and Hull F.C.sharing the Stadium.
I agree with you vinceHill about Latics being likeable up and down the country,
when my wife and i have travelled around the country,
i’ve always tried to go to the local non-league club match.When i’m asked where i come from, and reply Wigan and a Latics Fan,
i’m amazed how much they know about our club, at some clubs the management have taken me into their boardrooms and showed me old match programmes and pendants, when they played us when we was a non-league club.
