There are some of us that rejected Liverpool at the height of their fame and came and supported Latics though :)
And Latics have given us far far far more enjoyment than staying with Liverpool ever could have. Add in a son and grandson who genuinely are lifelong Wigan fans.

In all honesty, Ive nothing against Liverpool the club…theyre a fantastic club with lots of glorious history. They’ve had the same thing happen as United though in that a lot of the old local support has been replaced by tourists. Even LATICS, whilst in the top flight attracted our fair share of tourists to games. We had Serbians, Malaysians, Chinese, German, Austrian etc near us whilst in the top flight. I suppose it’s a sign of your club doing well and becoming known. Not a problem with that.
Just as long as the club remembers who the original fans are/were before the success came,
