I’ve been watching Latics since 1994
I agree on paying the going rate, but the club should be entitled to some of the profits in the same way a salesman gets commission.
For me….it’s easy.
How much does a rugby match cost to play? Electriciry, gas, staff etc etc. That is the cost of the rent plus say 10% of gate to go towards maintenance. Wigan have no offices there, no daily footprint etc so should literally pay for 14 days use.
It will be solved it’s whether or not it’s amicable and WRL will not be moving out.
As for running to the council, they are effectively the letting agent. If you rent a house and feel your landlord is being unfair then they get involved.
As I’ve said before I won’t convince anyone on IL or the council but both were involved in trying to save the club, neither wanted to own it outright though.
I have no issue with a rent increase but it depends what we get back in return. If the rent doubles and the rugby can keep beer sales then fine.
It’s a bit like treading on ‘egg’shells on here ,you have to be careful what you say. I think Mr Leneghen has a lot of explaining to do.Three attempts to buy the stadium and training ground.Talk about kicking us when we are down. Had he succeeded that would probably have signalled the end for us. It’s difficult to see a way forward with both clubs working together. The promise to install all blue seats at the stadium by our Chairman I strongly suspect is because the rent increase talks are not going well with the Rugby. I also don’t like the comment Leneghen made about you don’t know what’s going to happen in the future , it comes across as a veiled threat that they will try again to buy the stadium from under our noses if the opportunity presents itself.
The first post mentions it a little and knowing what went on at the time, there are pieces missing.
Yes he tried to buy the stadium (to protect his investment) but he also tried to find a buyer for the football club he just wasn’t it because he didn’t want it.
I hear what your saying Egg but it does not ring true. Why would he try and find a buyer for Latics ? That was the admins job and Latics were a lot more attractive proposition with the stadium and training ground as part of the package . Splitting them up would have signalled the death knell , even the admin realised this. I think he saw an opportunity to purchase the stadium at a knock down price. Thankfully ,it did not happen.
He can’t afford to run the stadium on his own and didn’t want to. Yes he wanted control of it but he still wanted the football club to play there.
I know I’ll never convince anybody any different but he didn’t want WAFC to go bust.
Nothing in the spam bullitt BTW
Why would it be in spam?
The post went straight to review and no doubt pulled by admin, before my earlier post no one had commented for over two days, a bit more activity tonight, so bollocks to spam and reviews otherwise this site will die a death, up to you!

No posts go “for review” so I literally have no idea what you’re talking about.
A few posts appear to be posted but go into spam, yours wasn’t there.
The spam filter blocks out certain things to stop adverts from bots etc so if you post something that it doesn’t recognise (a link perhaps that you haven’t posted correctly) it won’t like it.
Try using the ‘link’ option when posting rather than copy and pasting and it might work better.
I’d rather have a few missing posts every now and again that we can find above a load of bots posting nonsense that takes ages to clean up.

The only admin on the website that supports the rugby is me and as a grown up I don’t care about the colour of seats.
Some posts (including mine) go into ‘spam’ for some reason but it’s literally 1 or 2 and not 100s.
More than happy with our business. Glad we didn’t sign Morsy. Hope we get a few more in today as usually happens, but I think we’ve a decent squad there.
If we could score 22 at home we’d be fine
Can’t see too many leaving
After some of our performances this season you’re right we should be getting paid.
Good incentive tonight with cheap tickets and “retro night” but sadly given the fact we are dogshit to watch there’ll still only be 12k on max (probably only about 10k actually as quite a few ST holders have stopped going)
Why if there was such a demand from Bolton fans will there be 700 empty seats in the North Stand?
Have to leave some seats free for safety reasons when the stand is unreserved.
What’s massive about a cup game against City?
Sick of beating them.
Think it’s more the fact we won’t get 15000 home fans so shut that stand and save on costs. Happens for pretty much every cup tie.
