Last season Villa were a premier team, we were first division. To loose by 1 goal with only 5 mins left, isn’t a battering. 2nd half last week against Derby, we played really well and should have got something out of the game.
I think we need to wait until January to see who he can bring in. To be fair most of our players aren’t good enough for this level. Sorry to say it but it’s true.Fully agree
“The game plan will be no different at home or away from home because we have got some really tough sides to play against and we have got to deal with football clubs that are throwing the best part of £20million of substitutes onto the pitch,” Joyce explained.
“That’s where we’re at, we’ve got to make sure we stop the opposition from playing in the best way that we can and limit their opportunities of scoring – which we did today – and then try and come up with ways that we can score goals to win games.
“We will approach the game no differently on Wednesday night, we will try and win the game in what we believe is the best way that we can go and do that.
Only a couple of minutes from a good point but surely with players in position and setting up and going for a win there is a good chance of getting at least one point.
It’s not just the missing striker it’s the missing attacking left midfielder too.
We did want to see changes after Yootha took over but leaving out the part of the side that was working (Will) wasn’t it. Leaving him out and losing your main attacking midfielder wasn’t it either.
Ok it worked at Huddersfield but the last two weeks it hasn’t.
Crazy days indeed!!!There is also the chance of being taken apart.
I agree at home we should start on the front foot but away I am happy to see this kind of plan.
Regards Yanic, he sees him as a striker and likes to have pace in his side (which will doesnt have) so get used to it. Personally I would play both but I don’t get paid to make that call.
Gutted. As fine an acting performance as you’ll see.
Never saw the man play but was lucky enough to meet him several times and he was funny as f***. A great character.
The plane crash tragedy has made me think how I would feel if it was WAFC and it’d rip my heart out. Fair play not only to their families but also the fans as well. Your football club is as good as your family.
Thoughts with the family of Harry Peet also.

5 according to this
I do seem to remember seeing something saying he was unavailable.
I don’t think we’ll go up I’m just saying it’s happened before.
2003/2004 around this exact time we hammered Palace live on Sky 5-0. Their Manager was sacked from the stands and Iain Dowie took over.
Fast forward to May and they make the playoffs and win promotion.
It isn’t beyond the realms of possibility. Barnsley did it last season as well.
Not a big fan of them personally. Can understand why they have them in cricket but if you lose and get maximum bonus points you only get 5 compared to a possible 21. They trialled them in rugby league and it flopped.
I’ve always been of the opinion that if you lose, you lose. Scoring 3 away is great but if you concede 4 then you deserve nothing.
I’d take 4 as well.
I think we will do similar against Villa as we did at Barnsley and Huddersfield.
I was laughing my head off at some of the comments personally. I knew Leeds fans were deluded but they think they’re “back” because they had more shots than Liverpool reserves in a game they lost 2-0.
Hang on! Surely you don’t want Yanic in the CF position every week?Yanic spent most of last night on the wing/wide areas and had a lot of success just a pity we didnt play a recognised striker otherwise we could have had three or four goals against Huddersfield.
I am 100% sure Grigg was not injured or ill last night yet he didnt make the squad let alone the bench, if we had lost last night people would have been up in arms that we didnt start with a recognised striker, get Yanic back on the wing and bring back Grigg thats the way forward for me.
Dont get me wrong i am made up with the win and the points but wouldnt like to see that team selection every week, why play people out of position when we have fit and well strikers bench warming?
No I don’t want to see that every week and I don’t think we will once Joyce gets from the players what he is looking for.
Not sure what Barnsley’s tactics were but our tactics went to another level of dullness. They couldn’t break us down though like we couldn’t break PNE down, so does that make Barnsley as bad as you’re saying we were under Gary or does that make Preston similar to how we played last week but minus the scabby goal?
Eggxactly. That is all they had to do as Gary’s game plan of keeping possession was so in affective and lacked any attacking threat. We did that at Barnsley last week so does that make their tactics as bad as Gary’s?
Trouble is horc fixtures are being planned and played for TV viewing purposes in far flung countries not just the domestic market. I’m surprised we ain’t playing games in the small hours just to suit the American viewing figures. That’s why the FA Cup final kicks off at 5.30.
