I would expect it to be a closed shop. Imagine the uproar if someone earned the right to do something as opposed to buying their way in.
Cardiff showed yesterday that you can pick results up with a new boss and with both Villa and Derby having new Managers we need a win today
Not strictly true but hey ho.
Regards the renting of the stadium it’s a top idea. Who would be daft enough to pay for a pitch every year because you built it on a swamp.
Sounds like a typical lacklustre England display and now of course the media knives are out.
National team always needs a scapegoat. It’s his turn.
Probably right that Bullitt
Sure they play at Partick when we at home
Or whichever home game it was that clashes
I’ll take your word on the last two Eggy. :huh:Even so, its a well known fact that born and bred Wigan football fans support other football clubs (well they watch em on TV and wear the shirts)
But for the life of me i can’t think of any born and bred Wiganers that support other rugby league teams, why would they when they can follow a big fish in a small pond?
Actually i know a bloke (a real rugby league fan and Worriers supporter) that goes to watch lower league sides play on Sunday’s around the North West he doesn’t support them he just loves to watch RL.
The same reason some would follow other football clubs. Parents influence. If a guy moves from St Helens/Warrington to Wigan will he bring his son up as a Wigan fan? No he won’t.
Plus, there are plenty of Latics fans who love rugby they just won’t support Wigan.
Who actually cares? Our Chairman doesn’t as per his Twitter.
Congratulations to @WiganWarriorsRL! We are from a small town amongst big cities & we should be proud of all the success our teams achieve.

A trip there for a Monday night game is NOT fun.
I didn’t swerve it at all. Paragraph 2.
Hull brought about 1500.
I know a few who support other clubs yes.
Well it wasn’t in 2006 was it?
And what’s that game got to do with the 2014 FA Cup semi final?
But if we must…there was still 2068 more on in 2006 than in the Super 8s semi final of 2016.[/quote]
Well it was a semi final (our first ever) at home against Arsenal. What makes you think 13000 extra people would turn up?
What was the last BIG cup crowd at The JJB/DW?? People (well wiganers) won’t buy a ticket to a ground they have a season ticket at. Doesn’t happen.
Horc is spot on, there are far more football fans in Wigan they just don’t support Latics.
The cream rises as they say
Or even have a club
The way things are going there won’t be a Blackpool FC in 10 years time, fair play to the fans in their quest to oust the Oystens!Said last year that it shows how lucky we are to have Whelan even if some can’t see it.
