I recall Graham Kavanagh (yes, the same) once scoring an absolute cracker at the Shevvy end for Stoke. He ran and ran with the ball, before firing a rocket as straight as an arrow right into the top corner. Think it was about 1998.
The game when we were 2-0 up and a certain Greg Strong scored a late winner for Stoke?
When it all started going wrong for whatever reason he was arguably one of the worst players in the team.I think he’d already spat the dummy by then.
22. Was really annoyed at the ones I missed.
You didnt know that?
Exactly that. Phone sky and tell them your card is nakerd.
Gold medal at the Olympics now too
First team won’t play tomorrow. Watch this space.
I thought the GB game on Thursday was pretty boring but I’ll still be treasuring my Olympic ticket stub as its the only event I’ll see in my lifetime.
You’re flogging a dead horse, Eggy. I’d leave it if I were you, it’s fast becoming the most boring topic of conversation in Wigan.Tell me about it.
Don’t get me wrong I dislike rugby league because I find it has become boring to watch.Agree to an extent
Personally, I love YAMS.
Awesome
The crowd was 13975. I presume that Cas failed to bring more than 1k so lets call it 13000 home fans.
The crowd for Latics v Man Utd (arguably the biggest sporting name in the World) was 18115. That leaves approx 13115 home fans which is also presuming that everyone in the Wigan ends were actually Wigan fans and not Utd fans who had managed to get tickets such as the two young lads sat next to me.
I’ve said it 18115 times and will say it another 13975. Both teams average around the same number of home supporters. If teams like Wakefield, Castleford, London, Catalans, Salford etc brought the same size followings as teams like Villa, Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton, Liverpool, Blackburn, City etc etc then I bet the average crowds wouldn’t be too different.
That bloke from Crewe who vollied that screamer in at Gresty Rd from a corner.
FFS not this again
The Henry free kick
The Steven Reid pearler (as said though all 3 goals were crackers that day)
Hernan Crespo on that opening day
Seem to remember Utd scoring a cracking team goal against us once. Think it may have been the Giggs goal to win them the league. -
