In league 1 i think we are a fairly big fish to players moving around at this level with the big ground etc.
Added to the fact the club appears to be going places at a fast pace and its no surprise that players are happy to sign for the club.

Be lovely to go to Wembley and the comp has a sentimental appeal to the supporters due to it being the first Wembley victory achieved back in 1985.
From a supporter perspective and mine it’s go and win it but This is low on the priority list surely.
A tough one for the manager to weigh up given the trophy represents a much smaller financial gain.
        Play a reserve team is
        My view.

Great game and day out and turn out from Blackburn very very good.
The little melee after our second goal in ES2 reminded me of the old terrace days in the seventies.
Great performance from our lads in the second half against a very decent Blackburn side.
A cup tie that will live long in the memory that one.

Hopefully a great new year for all Latics supporters although the fixture congestion will be a test and the club needs to get some players in now to cope.
Tuesdays blocked out for next three months !

I was watching a documentary yesterday about Accie Stanley filmed in 2008 and he was taking a right bollocking from His manager Bob Hoskins sorry John Coleman during a dressing room half time rant.
Not had an easy life in football but he is certainly going to have a great career in management.
Top bloke all round and a real find for us!

A good draw and always enjoyed the tussles with them in the past.
Not one to take lightly though and surely worth having a real bash at this trophy now.

He is a slow burner so they may have got to January and turned the tide.
I think that is what would have happened with Cook and they are only 7 points from play off places.
Maybe more to this than meets the eye because he hasn’t been given enough time.
                        Crazy decision

Get well soon Charlie , a fantastic attacking player who will be hugely missed.
Thoughts with him and his family.

Have to give Cambridge credit they played very well at the back and have a goalkeeper that they wont have very long if he keeps playing like that.
Two sucker punches and run of the ball wasn’t there however our manager made some changes at the right time and we kept plugging away showing the character this team has in abundance despite having an off night.
A bit of luck and we might even have nicked it at the end, i couldn’t see anything wrong with the third goal was it handball , foul ???.
on to Plymouth now and arguably the biggest game of the season so far.

I think they envisaged he would be like Alex Ferguson and win loads of trophies and stay there for 20 years to build another empire.
Alex had time simply because the media could be better controlled back in the 1980s and any detractors locally or nationally in the press were very quickly dealt with with.
The media now is so vast and wide that it is impossible to control and managers don’t get the time any more.
A new manager will have to hit the ground running and win trophies Al most immediately to keep the detractors at bay .
Feel sorry for OGS he was on a hiding to nothing.
                              Sleeping giant now that club.
