What about Fulham’s abysmal away following anywhere in the country they get 22000 minimun at home and if it aint in London they take at most 400 away on a good day fook all said by the media
Fulham or Dulham (my pet name for them) are probably the most pointless club in the country.
Never ever won a trophy of any note, home gates made up of tourists and yes naff away support so yes good post and again, isn’t it strange how nobody ever brings up their rubbish support.?????
On another point I had to laugh today when a national newspaper said that the 2500 we are taking over to Belgium is one of our biggest ever away followings?????
Nearly choked on my muffin man pie at that -we used to take twice that in the old division 4 and could anything beat the 25000 who travelled to Everton in January 1980?Ah I just felt that I should point out that I didn’t see the point of you making the point that a crowd of 28,000 was a cause for complaint.Just seemed petty and pointless. If you see my point?? ;)
Not a complaint more an observation that the press and media rubbished our crowds and cited the reason as the rugby club when we had an average of nearly 20,000 last season in a town with a population of 80000.We are also surrounded by some of the biggest clubs in the country and have the highest density of football clubs in the country to compete with.
They on the other hand have a massive catchment area compete with a nothing club like Bournemouth and a sinking one in Portsmouth in one of the most affluent areas of the country.
it never ever gets mentioned in the media that’s my point and I think it is a valid point especially when I still hear the rubbishing of our attendances from various quarters even now.
Pointless point ?Pointless thread. If you have read it and responded to it it is hardly pointless is it????
Martinez has taken them up a notch if you ask me on the evidence last night -I’m pleased for him. Our relegation last season was due to the lack of strengthening last January when we needed it most.
We can’t lay the blame for that at his door -he worked miracles here and I’d have him back tomorrow! No way will that Everton side hit the bottom four -deffo top ten after what I saw last night and not an ex Latics player in sight.
we will NEVER have a manager as good as Bobby , end of. you all know that but won’t admit it. james mc bought for 1.5 sold for 13m, maybe 15m eventually.

Good post-Martinez had an eye for hidden talent and I bet a few more scouts are up in Scotland after the fee received for .
Coyle seems very shrewd though and has gone up in my estimation with his tough stance and to only lose one player on deadline day says a lot about his man management. At least Coyle and Whwlan didn’t crumble and held out for as much money as
best of luck James hope you fulfill your potential.
Atl least we kept Maloney and Callum .Wigans no 1 fan !
Forest were found out – we outclassed them at times today!
excellent performance today!great first half and a dogged defensive performance in the second – 1 defeat in 5 ,how long since we were able to say that??
we would have them all back like a shot though wouldn’t we?
My response yesterday was a but tame but WTF is this post all about??????????
Relegation form isnt usually averaging five points from four games -it would put us on a about 60 points which is hardly going to relegate us is it?
We have a new team that is gelling and learning the facts of life in what is probably the most exciting and competitive league in europe.
The team will improve and our best players will come back so results are sure to improve given a little bit of time.
I appreciate it is a bit of a culture shock seeing misplaced passes and some hoof ball but bear in mind we have dropped a division and this is how things are going to be from now on!
Personally i have enjoyed the two home games so far and appreciated the effort on show as well as the frenetic style of football that is played in the championship.
My prediction is we will reach the play off places and we will win next saturday.Another stunning free kick to save the day and as good a performance from our goalkeeper as I have seen for many a year to save us a point.
The atmosphere the other night seemed different to the premier league in that it seemed less serious and more laid back a bit like the old days -good riddance to the JCLS!!!
The effort shown was unquestionable from both sides and again I am so looking forward to next Sundays game and seeing how this new team shape up in that one.
We have our first ever European draw to look forward to next week and then another big game against a fallen star in Nottingham forest -can’t believe anyone would miss any of this at the moment regardless of the results. His best football was played in his first spell here but after some of his performances last season that news is no surprise !
