Rio’s not there because all he’d do was hoof it forward.
Someone asked him if he knew how to get two whales in a mini? Down the M56 was his reply.
The only thing causing him any Alarm is leaving his two pets behind:
CAT A TONI And cat b: tiddles.
CYMRUeach for the stars is what the chairman told him. (it’s in the pronunciation!)
On reflection, I think you’re all being a bit harsh on Liverpool. Of course they want the best – someone with pride, passion, new ideas, someone who’ll get the best out of the under performing likes of Downing, Henderson, Carrol etc. A club with such a magnificent history and tradition deserve to be challenging for major honours year in, year out. They need a manager fans can relate to – one of them, someone who knows the finer points of the game like they do, not someone (for all his good points) like Martinez. They can’t afford the gamble on a three year plan which is probably not going to work anyway. I can’t see the point in looking backwards to Rafa either and AVB clearly couldn’t hack the pressure at Chelsea. This leaves only one person in my opinion who can make them great again and a local lad aswell. He ticks all the right boxes. Stand up and take a bow Sir Jimmy Tarbuck.
Quote from Gareth Roberts of the Liverpool fanzine ‘Well Red’:
“Martinez is not an upgrade on Kenny Dalglish, he’s an up and coming manager, but it doesn’t send out the right message.”
Oh the arrogance!! Long may Liverpool’s decline continue…
Survival. Gives me great pleasure to have consistently have earned the right to compete on an equal footing (apart from the refereeing) with the big boys. There on merit, week in, week out. Still little Wigan and 8 seasons on, still taking the piss.
Miles offside. A poor decision from the linesman that could have cost us dear.
???This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve read tonight that some of us would prefer Bolton to stay up.
These are our biggest local rivals – why on earth wouldn’t you want them worse off than us?Do you think Everton fans would prefer Liverpool to stay up?
Or City fans Utd?
Or Spurs fans Arsenal?
Or Rangers fans Celtic?
Or River fans Boca?
Or Sunderland fans Newcastle?Don’t get me wrong I love a good derby, but would much rather see Bolton plying their trade in a division below us.
Plus, Bolton and Blackburn going down makes us the top team in Lancashire and in Gr Manchester we’d be third only to City or Utd!
I’ll try and defend the indefensible:
1: The cost – always reasonable at Bolton without the obvious expense of traveling to London.
2: Survival next season – Bolton seem skint and will be down there again next year. QPR may be able to strengthen which puts a bit more pressure on us in our never ending battle against the drop.
3: Coyle v Hughes – No contest there really.
4: This rivalry thing isn’t exactly huge. The Bolton fans I know reckon Utd is their big hatred, not us. We’re just a side show. Bolton is just a town full of Utd (and increasingly City) fans. Seem familiar?
5: Delusions of grandeur – I always get the impression QPR reckon they should be bigger than they are, a bit like Newcastle etc. Don’t get that feeling with Bolton. They’re just trying to survive like us.But as I said on another thread, I’d never say any of this in public :)
Blackburn look certain to go so out of QRR and Bolton, I’d much prefer QPR to go down. I’d never admit that in public though…
2 more with me due to popular demand.Blackburn have the option to give more tickets, they needed a point against United last season and gave them 7000 so why when they need points do they not give us the top and half the bottom?
Before someone says they have season tickets in that end, Man United do in the away end they give teams for the cup games and as at United they have opt in for cup games they just move the season ticket holder to another part of the ground so this could be done at Blackburn.
They could have given us more tickets and didn’t.
Blackburn have a 2 games for £15 offer on to get their ground full. Why should they fill it with us when they can fill it with their own lot? This could work both ways for them, especially if they turn on Keane, but it’s entirely understandable that they’d want to fill the ground with their own fans.
As the United fans sang on Wednesday night, “Were United and we get what we want” !Apparently not so it seems :)
One of the many highlights the other night was singing back to them “You’re Man Utd – you’ll do as you’re told”. Quality.
One of em (who I assume to be a UTD fan) barged through the turnstile as my little lad went through last night. The girl in the booth was too busy talking to her mate to either notice or care and typically, by the time I found a steward, he was long gone some where into the depths of the East stand. Shame I didn’t see him on the way out but hope he thoroughly enjoyed the game.
“It didn’t help us at all” claimed Fergie. Maybe not, but 1-0 down, 1 man down, away at Old Traford and with 75 mins left probably helped QPR less. Sounds fairly familiar…
Mcarthy. Rooney won’t be happy about being hunted down in midfield every time he has the ball. He’ll have a quiet word with the ref about the young ne’er-do-well spoiling his evening and that’ll be that.
