Your comparing us in the Premier League, to us in the second division. It was far easier to compete in that league compared to now, hence the possibility of entertaining football was also greater. Mathias was a great bloke and was rightly held in high regard here but no way could he have maintained that standard in the Prem.[/quote]

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Simon Davies, he’s a quality player and although he’s been injured for a while he’s been great for Fulham since returning.Also, Jamie O’Hara on loan? Fuller on a free? Tempt Pederson into switching? There’s a few on that list worth a punt but those 4 in particular for me would be great additions.
good shout Alex,I got shot down good style on here reguarding Mr Fuller 12 mths ago.At least he can cause some “panic” in the opposition penalty area and open up defences.Someting lacking up front since Heskey left imo!
There is definitely more of a problem from them, than us. Make no mistake about it, this guy would LOVE us to fail at everything we do….
Well Wigan rugby were once the number one team in this town, there’s no denying that. Yet there was no real bitterness from our fans because quite frankly we didn’t (and still don’t) care about their game. Most of us cared about their success as much as Wigan’s badminton/hockey/netball team if they were the nations best team in their sport. They all watch football, everyone does, however they don’t like us despite being from Wigan. And yet they bang on about pride and loyalty when it comes to their game.
They were almost like the playground bully in the town before we almost came from nowhere to recieve just as much attention not only from the local public but from the local media as our egg chasing cousins. Then we continued to flourish and overtake them in every way possible in popularity stakes both locally, nationally and internationally. They were no longer the big boy in the playground. They were not just overtaken, but overtaken by the very same people they used to look down on and make fun of for years.

There is no way I could defend the result on Sunday, this cannot happen again. Bobby has had his first season and go lucky, with 30 points to stay up it would have taken a poor manager not to keep us up this season.
The obvious problems we have in the team are plain to see, we need to strengthen defensively, but buy a midfielder who can kill the game and tackle. Diame is a class act, but needs to be allowed freedom to go forward, he fails to stop midfield runs and then gives up too easily. We need a stronger strike force and back four who can play together as a unit.
The challenge is for Bobby to clean out the squad and bring a some experience in, maybe a full back or two who can stop crosses….. If this continues then off with his head….
I think a couple of “Striker’s”are the no1 priority for next season.Rodders apart what we have are not good enough for the Premier League and never will be.Lets be right take a chance on a couple young promising forwards and lets be honest they could’nt do worse than Scotland and Moreno 39 games 1 goal between um :oops: [/quote]
