Was asked at the presentation evening tonight if he will be taking us into eurpoe and he said “yes”. Looks like he’s going nowhere.

      well he has done.

If Martinez goes, we will get cheap option jones. Some benefits, some negatives. Will be interesting to see

well Swansea wanted jones.will the players stay if it is jones?he would probably continue with the same style of play.

”No Money” Everton is somewhat of a myth. I read last week that during Moyes time in charge at Everton they are the 8th biggest spending club in the country – hardly the actions of a club with no money.

Regardless, I think the fee Latics would be likely to get for Maloney would be well within their reach if they can spend £4.5mill on Pienaar.
McCarthy admittedly may be out of their reach but he is hardly goign to be short of suitors
Laudrup probably has a compensation fee written into his contract, I doubt very much (from what is said about his & Whelan’s relationship) that Martinez does, so the chances of Latics being able to say they wanted £6mill for him are non-existant – not forgetting Whelan’s quotes that if he says he wants to go he would let him go
McCarthy will definitely leave, Bobby may leave & I think Maloney will go if Bobby does
Even if them 3 don’t you are still looking at one hell of a rebuilding task for next season if just the out of contract players go (& Whelan has already says he’s pretty sure they will) not to mention the 6 players on top of the current squad numbers that both Bobby & Whelan say the club needs next season

net spend for everton in 10yrs is 22 mil,2.2 per season.biggest signing 15 mil fellaini.martinez will have to do a lot of weeling n dealing,if he goes there,or he will have nothing to spend.have heard all the new tv money at everton is going on paying off most of debts.then he will have to introduce his style of football, therefore letting a bag full of goals in early on in the season.will not last at everton.

            Would it? Why?
Both out of the game too long in my humble opinion. No contacts equally Jewell almost brought Ipswich to ruin with funds available.

If Bobby goes and takes his backrooom staff, how about Brightons Gus Poyet, or Roberto di matteo. Please not franchise MK’s Karl Robinson.

poyet has stated he wants to work in the prem.don’t rule out everton for mr poyet.

I think who else would wanna leave depends on Bobby’s decision to stay or not.
If Bobby stays I think Maloney, McArthur & McManaman would elect to stay for at least another season. If Bobby goes I can see them being open to offers from top flight clubs & if Bobby goes to Everton I think that it’s a cert that he’ll come back for Maloney (& McCarthy).

both Maloney and McCarthy in contracts,so can you see no money everton having the cash for them ,as well as paying compo for Martinez.also Martinez wages will have to improve.if Swansea are wanting 10 mil compo for laudrup ,we can at least expect 6 mil for the man they want so bad.so all in all they would need to cough up ,Maloney 5 mil, mccarthy 10 mil plus 6 mil Martinez, total 21 mil, somehow I don’t think so.

It’s a strange feeling, but the disappoint felt of relegation from the PL tonight is nowhere near as great as the ecstasy felt after winning the FA Cup on Saturday.
I thought I would have been really gutted and inconsolable, but I somehow feel an excitement for the new season.
It feels like a new start with something other than survival to strive for.
Lets give the players a good send off at the weekend, and look forward and build for a promotion challenge next season.

                COME ON WIGAN

Yep, we still have a Wembley appearance in August and then it could be Marseille on a Thursday neet, followed by a trip to Doncaster. Some good local derby games to look forward to. We might just enjoy ourselves.

Will not have to listen to sourface Lawrenson and surely the Refs can’t be as overtly biased as those in the Prem.

Ask yourself, how many clubs have actually won something in the last 8 years: answer not many, but Little Wigan did win the FA CUP and the hearts of millions.

exactly, arsenal no trophy in god knows how many years.
all they fight for is 4th place.

I was dreading this day but after Saturday, The Premiership just doesn’t seem to matter any more. We have enough money for a good promotion push, Get some good hungry Championship players like Billy Sharp etc and rebuild. We will inevitably now lose Maloney, Kone, Joel, McManaman, Figgy, Ramis Alcaraz and McCarthy but we still have solid Championship players like Gomez, McCarthur (though premiership standard, No one will want him though) Espinoza, Lopez, Watson and Beaseajour (who although is dross in the prem, will be a danger a league down) I am also looking forward to seeing Nicholls after all his hype. Dicko, Redmond in the squad. Golobart art number 5 if he stays on. Getting rid of players like Stam, Boyce, Di Santo and Scharner. We have a great chance to rebuild this team that has been slowly degrading for a couple of years now. Out with the old and in with the new, A refresher. We will also save a bomb on wages. Hope to god Martinez stays but i very much doubt it now with the deafening silence at Goodison. Graeme Jones to stay on please. if not then get on the blower to Gary Neville.

No way will Kone, Ramis, Maloney and Macmanaman all leave. Maloney signed a new contract in the new year so must have known relegation was a possibility, Ramis wont be fit for new season so is unlikely to attract anybody and Macmanaman has scored 2 goals and played well around 4 times for the club. I would be amazed if all those quoted left. Like it or lump it Martinez has taken us down and he owes it to us having stuck with him season in season out to at least try to get us back up.[/quote]

                  what exactly do contracts mean?
don’t you think there will be a few clauses in them.

It will be our decision. Figs, Alcaraz and Di Santo apart the rest are under contract so if we sell em its on our terms. We get 15 million parachute payment, get a few big hitters off books, make about 20 million in transfers and we should have a good chance of returning. I would be surprised if Bobby walks on relegation.

                    its 23 million parachute payment.
alcaraz,di santo, figgy, mccarthy, scharner all going even if we had stayed up.
so we need a left back,goalie,2 centre halves, right back and 2 forwards and 2 midfielders in my opinion.so that’s 9 new players who need bedding in,its gonna be along season next.
