I love both sports and know a lot about both. In my experience, Rugby fans know about as much about football as football fans do.

Well… Thank you for that amazing insight and logic there Salford. I will sleep much easier knowing that someone with the intellect of an ant’s arse hole will try to challenge it. Wondered why i haven’t posted on here for a while??? Some people just cannot handle honesty.

Mutty that is aimed at you in particular.

Mr Hughes,

I think you meant Nuneaton as my post was purely about football – clue is FA Cup!
Yes but Mr. Dog, I wasn’t being patronising.

Has it arrived in Wigan yet?

Have you made any changes to the rules of that mickey mouse sport yet?. You know like adopting ridiculous American style names or not having relegation or forming new teams to promote that gormless game to people outside the M62 corridor. Don’t worry Rugby Union is thriving and getting better in the UK.
I love both sports and know a lot about both. In my experience, Rugby fans know about as much about football as football fans do. Problem is, Football fans in the main know fuck all about rugby so resort to making assumptions, So can we stick to just talking about football on here please? Mutty that is aimed at you in particular.

in reply to: To those who complain about Whelan #124141

How can they call themselves fans, these hooligans, this militant minority, when they disturb and distract the players while taking away the rights of others to watch the football, and of companies who have paid good money for advertising?’

Haha the people who pay good money for advertising. Just the same as Whelan. I love it how people still think Whelan cares what you think. If he did he wouldn’t have appointed this bell end. Whelan’s business plan worked, Give a team 10m to get to the premier league and receive hundreds of millions in return, Fans think you are a martyr and jobs a good un. It’s easy, He is an asset stripper, Destroys everything he touches for money, Even his own company (JJB), Orrel RU, Pooles pies, Central Park.

Our chairman is on par with Hull’s and don’t you think any different. He will fuck Latics over either in August or the August after. He didn’t even pay a penny for the stadium hahahahaha, Fucking brain dead people who support the leeching bastard. All he wants is the money out of your pockets.

For anyone who gave me a donation to Josephs Appeal for one of the above badges I gave out in Russia. I have decided to send the money to the Philippine Disaster Fund instead. I hope you don’t mind. I think you will agree for these people it is a matter of Life and Death

Very commendable and generous idea.

Well done sir :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Went out for a pint or three in Wigan yesterday to try and gauge the Rugby league world cup in the taverns of our great town what did I find in the last orders is akin to the jockey on shameless a few flags put up and the majority watching Liverpool v West Brom a mon walked in shouting get this shyte off put racing on a total disgrace for the said center of the universe of rugby league tried the Raven not a flaming flag up in the place went on to the tudor same story nobody talking about the greatest game in the world are times changing in this town ????

Oh because he was from Wigan he automatically had to be a rugby fan. Your from Wigan and you dont like rugby (as you tell everyone every day) why should he be any different.

Been waiting for this post to crop up. Everyone posting to tell everyone else that they wont be watching. Cracker.

Hate to burst your bubble Leyland but Spain, Germany, Argentina and Brazil in the football world cup. The rest really are there just to make up the numbers.

It’s not big because its on Sky. Is that the bench mark, You have made it when you are on sky. Could the BBC not just have wanted it more and paid more to get it?

We need someone who would take the spotlight off DW when he starts mouthing off about whatever is on his mind. Someone in touch with modern thinking both on and off the field, someone who has managed at the highest level and is able to build bridges in the multi cultural world of football.

Ron Atkinson

Thats Barry Fry knackered then!

I sit near that ginger numpty and his dad/uncle….(`Jumping Jimmy, the ex steward at Springfield Park), in the West Stand..

His abuse of referees every game in the first five minutes of every game is most annoying, and his language, considering he is surrounded by youngsters is embarrassing.
Ive told him on numerous occassions to shut the fuck up but it doesnt seem to register in his sawdust filled head!

You are on about Darren, We used to stand near him sometimes. He used to sit behind me with his Uncle just after we moved to The JJB and his uncle used to touch my hair for no reason.

Used to stand near the away support at Springy Park when we were shooting that way and i remember distinctly Warren Aspinall playing for Carlisle and some chap near me was giving him abuse every time he got the ball, “Fatty Aspinall” “Who Ate All The Pies, Warren” After about 35 mins he came over to the touchline and lifted his top up and started slapping his belly, Was really funny. He was a fat shite too.

Gareth Southgate might do a good job !

Gary Neville !

But think we’ll play safe with Graeme Jones & Graham Barrow !

I shouted Gary Neville last week. I said it because a few reasons, here is my thinking

:- He is local
:- He sat in a dressing room with Sir Alex Ferguson for 20 years
:- He has a multitude of various football experiences
:- He wants a “Job that is right for him”
:- He would probably bring Phil Neville along as a player/coach along with old foes like Dennis Irwin, Gary Pallister and Nicky Butt etc.
:- He is familiar with Wigan (As a big Warriors fan ;) ;) )
:- He seems to have an extremely intelligent football brain (He talks a good game on the telly anyroad)
:- Seems like a genuine, Heart on the badge kind of guy

I would really love to see us take a punt on this guy. I would still rather keep Martinez though, Premiership or Championship, but that looks increasingly unlikely now with today’s developments.

Suicidal defending, for an experienced player it’s inexplicable really. I heard he is going to have retire at end of season due to a long standing hip injury, not sure how true that is.

We can all but pray ! :cheer:
Having been at work all day having time to reflect and talk to others about it i realised that if things go our way on Sunday and we can hold Arsenal to scoring just the one goal then we are pretty much still in the same position. In an ideal world by the time we play Villa, They will be safe, Newcastle and Norwich will have been beaten and 25,000 fans will do a West Ham, I honestly believe that the atmosphere the crowd against West Ham created 2 seasons ago played a huge part in us staying up. If we are still in with a shout i will be at the ticket office getting my Villa tickets on Monday morning. Call me what you like but that’s how i roll.

in reply to: Caldwell #112506
I’ll provide another perspective. He played a few great passes through, including the one for our second goal.

If we had of won the mistakes would have been brushed under the carpet. But as it is those mistakes cost us the match and all but confirmed relegation. Been bloody awful since day one. I would love to know what people see in his game that i miss. He, Boyce and Scharner have relegated us. Nowt to do with injuries. These players were supposedly good enough to play. Very wrong. Bloody awful.
