Quote …He said: “My period at Wigan wasn’t just four years as a manager. It’s been ten years, one way or another. Ten years with a football club is a big part of your career and your life. I just felt that it was the right time, after four very special years, to move on”.

Is it 4 or 10 ? Bob can’t quite decide going off that ! ha ha :cheer:

I know exactly what he was saying. How’s your Spanish?
Not too good but I am pretty confident that if I had been living there for the last 20 years I would be pretty fluent! ;)
You evidently can’t even read your own native language, so I wouldn’t hold out too much hope

Oh go on then, I’lldo my bit to help the intellectually challenged today.

He spent ten years with Wigan, the last 4 of which were special. I can’t see hwo you have a problem understanding that, though the word “special” in there might go some way to explaining it. ;)

He failed though in his attempt to deliver champions league football.

Richest club in the world tops Premier League. That’s hardly headline news.

Midtable club with modest resources finishes fifth. Is that success or failure?

The Everton fans can only complain that they’ve been denied all the excitement of a relegation battle promised by Bottom Four Bob.

Nope, not having that bollocks ! So the other 6 years were mediocre perhaps? He got confused and it all came out wrong just like one of his post match interviews when he was managing us !

Shall I explain again, that although I didn’t personally call Martinez “Bottom Four Bob” I fully understood that the creator of that name, Lostockhall Latic, was referring to, the fact that during his reign at Wigan, that’s where we spent a lot of our time, i.e. in and around the bottom 4.

Even then Lostock asked how long it would be before BFB had Everton at the wrong end of the table, not bottom 4.

If united get a decent manager and spurs get Ronald de Boer, I think the iPad king may struggle to reach a Europa league spot next season.

PS; even though you had to reap it up, I wasn’t far out with my prediction of Hull dropping like a lead balloon. They only avoided the drop mathematically after the penultimate week of the season. B) the elephant man got the squeaky bum experience that I hoped he would. :P

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!

Loved his six years as a player. Hated most of the drab football of the four years,
Shame really at times we showed that we could play real football. That amazing end to 2011/12 season showed that and gave everyone hope of a change from that drab tippy tappy one up front garbage. Then along came last season and tippy tapping all the way to the Championship and then he jumps ship.
Yes we did have the greatest ever moment in our lives by winning the cup but we played football to do that. If we had played that cup style of football we wouldn’t have gone down in the first place. Or was he happy taking us down. Certainly made it easier for him to leave us.

I don’t think they will finish in the bottom four, but at the end of the season I reckon their points tally could be nearer the club fourth from bottom than the Champions. Time will tell.

It looks like a positive result for Roberto.

With one game to go, Everton are 11 points behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

They are 34 points ahead of Sunderland, currently fourth from the bottom.

There is every chance that your predictions for next season will be more successful than those for this season.

Hull City haven’t won a league match since winning their place in the Cup Final. That may be because they are a shocking team, or perhaps because they have been distracted by their cup success. It happens. Nevertheless, you must have been the only person in the country who thought that they were in danger of going down. I’m sure that Bruce hasn’t lost any sleep over it.

For their part, Arsenal reached their nadir in the semifinal – when Wigan should have won. They have recovered strongly since then with four wins out of four. Hull will certainly have to pick themselves up to make a game of it in the Cup Final. They have one last chance to show what they can do – and it’s against Everton.

At Ajax or Barcelona? I assume Wenger will stay at Arsenal after all.
