Well i reckon that the problems are in house and something to do with the arrival of MM ! Before anyone says we were shit before he came, we were nowhere near this shit! The body language of some of the players last Saturday was really evident! The squad could have been pissed off with the poor run under Rosler and then maybe quite a few of them were against MM coming, maybe a few of the older heads? Once in house stuff starts it can be like a cancer! Last Saturday saw the bad vibe being transmitted to the stands and the atmosphere was quite eerie to say the least! People couldn’t believe what they were watching, that’s how bad it was! Whelan is the only one who can sort this out but he may have already told them that MM was his decision and that his decision is final sort of thing! Something is not right and unless the FA step in and save us ( Charge MM ) then I believe we will be consigned to League One football next season!
23 December 2014 at 12:28 am #137217As for the thread title – Ive never heard anything so ridiculous in quite some time.
I’ll bet you a pound to a penny I have Dave
Dave? Dave from Skem? That’s something else your way off the mark with
Why what else am I way off the mark with, your opinion?
23 December 2014 at 12:29 am #137218Revell is a dog and if that is your idea of what we should be doing, I’d point you in the direction of Ashton Athletic to get your fix.
I wouldn’t want his finesse, just his spirit would do for now in some of our more talented individuals.
And we can get that without HIM, it’s just down to the manager if he’s got owt about him.
Listen I want to be proved wrong starting from Boxing day, to the end of the season but I fear we’ll be doing a lot of toing and froing. Me after the manager and you lot after the players but if it carry’s on we’ll be relegated no matter what and the manager will go unless he gets his finger out and motivates these lot starting with his team selection.
I think you’ll find that you are already behind the drag curve on that one already.
Explain ?

Yes, in my opinion. And a few other people’s, by the looks of things.
23 December 2014 at 1:49 am #137221I could be the only one with this opinion and still not be wide of the mark though Griff .
You should know that of all people.
I’ll stand alone on this if I have to. MM is a bad egg and if there’s only me not wanting to sniff it, that’s fine.

Of course you could – but you’re probably not ;)
23 December 2014 at 3:56 am #137227Whatever the reasons, up to now Malky’s appointment has been a total faux pas on and off the field. It will cost us our chairman and probably our place in the championship and I feel like our problems are never-ending. It is us the fans who will always feel most pain. You could argue that everyone’s differing oppinions are not far off the mark and we all have our reasons for what we believe to be the way out for the club. The self destruct button has been well and truly pressed at this club and it will be a real effort to turn it round. I cannot see what change again will bring and I truly feel for Malky and imagine how he is feeling about this. There will be no easy fix and January will not see a whole bunch of quality players landing here. We will just have to tough it out and hope and pray our luck changes. Mr Whelan has lost respect and his reputation in his choice and his defence of his man has seen him castigated worldwide. Whatever you think of Mr Whelan this town, this club and especially us fans owe the man the support and hope that his manager proves it was worth all that has gone before. :( :( :(

I also think that a few players were not happy with his decision to bring in MM and also his pathetic attempt to defend him! There is trouble right through the camp and I reckon DW has lost the respect of some of the players!Obviously just my opinion but there is something seriously amiss!
23 December 2014 at 2:36 pm #137233Nowt to do with the players – who can play under these formations and tactics – disgusting to set up like that today at home against them menHas it never crossed your mind? that Malky could be sacking afew of the players who are not pulling their weight. ;)
23 December 2014 at 3:07 pm #137234No, Malky can’t sack players.
DW could terminate their contracts but that would be impossible under any current circumstance.
Next.
23 December 2014 at 4:04 pm #137235No, Malky can’t sack players. Not directly, but if he tells the Chairman he doesn’t want a particular player at the club then the Chairman can.
DW could terminate their contracts but that would be impossible under any current circumstance. What circumstances would they be? The ones that none of us know about?
Debenhams.

And as most of these players’ perfomances were just as abject under Rosler, why would you make that leap?

How can the chairman sack a player under contract just because the manager says he doesn’t want him?
Current circumstances being that there are no reasons to sack a player, you know like we did with Marlon King and even then I think we terminated his contract.
Bit of a daft reply tbh Egg, not sure what the Debenhams thing is about

It’s pretty easy to sack someone or force them out the club especially if the player power thing is correct. DW doesn’t want relegation and has changed the Manager. His next step is to change the players. Have you ever heard of mutual consent?
If a Chairman is backing his Manager then he will get rid of whichever players the Manager doesn’t want by any means he can, and it seems that DW is backing MM so if he says he doesn’t want certain players then they’ll either be off on loan, thrown into the youth side or they’ll find a way to get rid.
The Debenhams thing was in response to your Next comment after you had posted two statements that were pretty much crap TBH.
23 December 2014 at 5:51 pm #137240I completely disagree.
Another manager would have us sailing up this league with this squad of players. It happens even to the worst teams, Brum were beaten by 8 one week under Clarke the week after they beat Watford, top of the league, under Rowett.
They’ve been completely negged out by the last couple of managers.
If we just sacked him now and got someone else we’d be mid table come May.
Right, I’ll humour you. For a bit. If neither Coyle, nor Rosler and now Mackay (with his extensive, lengthy tenure of all of 5 games) could get this bunch of players playing, why would someone else? 3 managers, 1 set of players. It’s the squad, not the managers that is the common denominator.
MacLean up front on his own does seem a strange choice, granted, but I can only assume Mackay doesn’t fancy any of the other strikers. In terms of that lone, hold-up role, I don’t see that Fortune has been doing too much wrong, personally.
I see your point and I agree, Fortune doesn’t do a 1/2 bad job. He’ll never get you 20 a season but he’s the type of player to hold and drag players out of position.I find it hard to believe that 2 managers back to back don’t fancy the role of 2 up front or a 4-4-1-1 is it a case of we simply have too many midfielders so pleasing all takes president or is it abit more to do with money and payments appearances etc…..
I would like to see Fortune with a forward to play off him, again my choice would be Waghorn/Fortune
