Only if they buy them all. Club dont own any of em.
24 August 2020 at 10:08 pm #188909Lenegan buys the stadium for peanuts,
Preston buy Euxton,
What’s left ?
No ground
No players
Main training facility gone,
You are basically buying debts and a brand and a dead brand at that.If the 2 grounds are sold were fcuked, Lenegan doesn’t want Latics he wants the ground.
If true I’m afraid come the 1st September there might not be a Wigan Athletic and my finger points at the admin who have sent us down the Swany.
Apparently an offer from a new owner was made but admin turned it down.
What I wanna know is , who gets the money that Lenegan pays now that Choi and Way are no longer in the picture.Administration rape
25 August 2020 at 7:04 am #188910We have well and truly been fcuked over. We’re are the 5 bidders ?? Were have they all gone ? to buy the lock stock n barrel.
Unlike say a month back were talking buying a club with near no debt. Rumours like associates of Dell, Koukash, Belgium owners, even Whelan. If the club’s assets are stripped by admin who gets the money ?.
When you buy us what do you get for your money when you buy the club “Wigan Athletic” once the DW and Euxton is sold ?. In my eyes we become worthless that’s unless we build a new stadium.A clubs wealth and value is based on what it owns, grounds, real estate, players, stock market shares. Once those are stripped by admin and sold you are left with a club in name only, a brand.
If the rumours are correct and we are been broken up and sold by admin they have done a far better job of taking us down the IEC Choi and Way combined.
For weeks I have been saying they are heartless money driven vvankers who prey on those who fall on hard times like a pack of prairie dogs the pick and even eat the bones. The club has been broken up and destroyed by ruthless administrators who’s sole purpose is to generate as much money for whoever and
THEMSELVES
I just hope we don’t end up like Coventry or Northampton or even Brighton. Bunny hopping around like evicted tennant’s.
Can you imagine it, paying rent up at Horwich Wanderers ?, that’s were my loyalty would end
25 August 2020 at 9:33 am #188917We have always paid rent to play at the stadium where do you think the £10m debt to Wigan Athletic Holdings comes from?
Whelans business plan to protect assets has failed massively here because they chucked the whole bloody lot in the river.
The ground lost money anyway so let the goons jave it. They couldn’t make a profit when they rented it, they’ll be fucked now.
25 August 2020 at 1:42 pm #188938Here’s a thought:
The net worth of the Warriors is quoted at £19m (interesting, considering they have fewer assets than we have !). So I guess Mr Danson has stumped up a figure in the low single millions to become a shareholder.
Everbody is assuming that Lenagan will make a bid to buy the ground or pull together a consortium bid for the package. Lenagan is panicking about the Warriors not having a ground to call home, because his long term tenancy will be null & void, or re-negotiable, under new ownership. What if the bidder for the Latics is really Mr Danson and he is prepared to take it lock stock & barrel; but in order to re-assure Lenagan that the Warriors home is secure, he has purchased a share in the Warriors as a demonstration of commitment and good intent to both clubs.
Only a few days before our fate is determined.
25 August 2020 at 1:56 pm #188939I feel like I need to point this out…
Wigan Athletic Football Club do NOT own the stadium.

Wigan Athletic Football Club do NOT own the stadium. So at this very moment, who does ???
It’s all a part of the Wigan Athletic package, so why would you buy a football club and not the stadium ? Like I said Lenagan is cacking himself that his beloved Warriors will become a “spin of casualty” if this all goes wrong; and he will back any horse that means security of the Warriors.25 August 2020 at 2:22 pm #188943I feel like I need to point this out… Wigan Athletic Football Club do NOT own the stadium.

They are all owned by the same company yes, but they are completely separate entities. It’s similar to the DW Sports store in town being closed but the DW Sports Fitness First gym still being open. Owned by the same person, two separate businesses.
If no offer comes in for the full package, then they will have to start to sell them individually. It isn’t asset stripping because they aren’t our assets in the first place.
If they have sold the stadium then I would presume that there has been no offer for the football club, or alternatively, someone would like to buy the football club but doesn’t want a stadium (company) that loses £1m a year.
25 August 2020 at 2:26 pm #188944Given the fact that the council own 15% of the stadium company and the caveats involved that it can only be used for rugby and football….perhaps it makes more sense to someone to rent the stadium rather than pay to run it. We can’t be kicked out of it so it’s one more payment that they wouldn’t need to make.
25 August 2020 at 2:30 pm #188946As a rugby fan, I don’t want the stadium. Let the council have it and give the two clubs an equal stake. 50/25/25 for example.
Minimum outlay for the upkeep but they will receive the full profits from their home games.
If IL does buy it but doesn’t buy Latics then I don’t think it will affect the balance sheet of the football club too much provided we can take our matchday profits.
25 August 2020 at 2:51 pm #188947The problem is, we become worthless overnight. No staff, no players, no ground,no training ground, you tell me what a new owner would actually be buying bar debt?. We would have nothing of any value left so to shut us down again in the future would be a piece of cake.
Never did I ever think that i would see the day of the blanket coming round the pitch again. I still remember as a young lad throwing all my change in. Not much difference bar it’s online these days
28 August 2020 at 7:25 am #189033I’m at the stage now we’re I can only send money and there’s fcuk all else any supporter can do unless their very wealthy.
I care but I don’t care if you know what I mean. It’s been going on far too long with nothing more than rumours lies a deciept.
I can only describe it to a hurricane storm, there’s nothing we can do. We can only sit back, ride it out and hope there’s something left at the end.
If we are destroyed by all this then I’ve a message those local multi millionaires do me a favour
Stay the fcuk away from our club whichever league we may be playing in, you will not be made welcome. If you wanna help
Buy the fcukin club and be a hero to thousands.

No it won’t …they are protected by their lease ….any new owner cannot simply tear it up, or arbitrarily change the terms, even rent review points will be pre-specified.
We are also tenants and are similarly protected (assuming we continue to exist!)
28 August 2020 at 6:22 pm #189046What we need right now is clever business minded people in charge. It’s ok Uncle Fester saying local or UK people are preferred because the understand football.
Crap,
We need anyone, with money, with a target as to were were going. Will to invest not heavily just to get us on the straight an narrow.
I don’t care if there from Asia or Antarctica just as long as they run us as a business.
Remember Dave Whelan never ran a football club he was a successful business man before a chairman29 August 2020 at 10:07 am #189052If Randy Frankel does buy us I’m buying a Ray’s shirt and becoming a fan. I cant take much more of this uncertainty worse 2 months of my life.
