Well the administrators explained it to me personally and Paul Kendrick who speaks to the players and club on a daily basis has tweeted the details as well. Also as someone else has pointed out, I think Joffy would have noticed if his pay was wrong. I know the version of events I believe and it isn’t those from a troll on a message board.
The fact still remains whichever version is true that Joffy was under contract and we have received a fee for him. As we are in administration we are not in a position to demand £10m+ for him when essentially he can leave for free if we don’t pay him and so can everyone else if we don’t pay them.
Presumably, the sale of Joffy will go towards paying the wages we owe meaning the players can’t walk at the end of the month which is the current scenario.
11 August 2020 at 3:48 pm #188710Thinking about it, I think cupwinners is right.
Your sources are pretty poor Ad and Jackson was at fault for the administration for not bringing someone onto the board to fix the vote.
If anyone is going to know what went on I would think that rather than ask the people who were there we would be best asking some guy in last orders.
I’m team cupwinners on this one

11 August 2020 at 4:32 pm #188712Paul Kendrick the journalist?,
Well fcuk me its gotta be right then,
Case closed,
That’s like asking Fred West:Anything in the cellar Fred ? , no ? Ok move on chaps”.
You sure you don’t wanna buy some magic beans ??
And just when you thought you’d heard it all we’ve put a 20% sell on clause in his contact
https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/wigan-athletics-sell-clause-joe-gelhardts-leeds-united-deal-revealed-2939269Excellent negotiating there, when we desperately need money to remain Wigan Athletic in administration no owner and ready to be dissolved we say:
“Can you pay it us in 4 years please pal if were about that is”,
We might not be here in 4 fcukin weeks ne mind 4 years. The whole idea on selling him was to bring in desperately needed money. I’d sooner take 3 million right now and fcuk any clause, we need it NOW!!Mugs written straight across our heads MUGS
11 August 2020 at 4:45 pm #188714You’re right.
Jackson out!
11 August 2020 at 4:46 pm #188716You’re right.
Jackson out!Who said Kendrick ??
He’s advising free so if I saw the sh1t going on I’d fcukin walk straight out that door I couldn’t sit there in a roll were I’m watching the club get gang banged plus by the looks of it he’s advise is falling on deaf ears.
Please don’t tell me the 20% was his idea , please !!11 August 2020 at 5:28 pm #188718Back to the thread,
Wd started off with Admin sounding off how they shouldn’t have a problem finding new owners but since we took the drop,Tumbleweed
I’m a believer in that no news tends to always lean on the side of bad. At the beginning the admin weren’t shy on updates but of late the only news were all hearing is:Bid Accepted
As for lengthy documents need to be read, I get that but all the while the clubs in meltdown to the point it will be only worth the value of the real estate then in steps Lennegan and developers the same ppl admin originally turned down but they wont do it again if no new owner appears on the scene.
My stomach churns at the thought of that guy waiting in the wings to buy the ground not us on the cheap, I mean who else would want it ??
So new owners WERE ARE YOU ? LETS BE HAVIN YOU !!11 August 2020 at 7:04 pm #188721Excellent negotiating there, when we desperately need money to remain Wigan Athletic in administration no owner and ready to be dissolved we say:
A fee for a kid with potential, but who’d not exactly ripped up trees thus far and a 20% sell-on clause sounds like shrewd business to me. If Leeds develop him into a top star and sell him for £50m, thats £10m in the coffers – probably equivalent to the entire turnover for 12 months.
Southampton had a 25% sell-on clause for Gareth Bale when he moved to Spurs, which they relinquished for £3m. Sometimes, these clauses can be worth a small fortune.
12 August 2020 at 12:43 am #188722If we had signed Gelhardt on loan last year we would have sent him back with what was shown in pitch that’s for sure.
12 August 2020 at 5:45 am #188724Isn’t the sell on clause only triggered should he be sold on during his 4 year contract? I’m sure that’s what I read .So unless Leeds struggle or go down and he moves in that time frame we get zilch.
12 August 2020 at 5:46 am #188725Agree though bags of potential but to be honest he didn’t get regular game time so difficult to judge.
12 August 2020 at 9:18 am #188731Administation have now confirmed we could possibly start the new season in Administration, let’s see how that goes down with the EFL. Possible more points deducted ?.
While any potential new owner goes over 100’s of pages of documents regarding what they get for their money the plugs out and the clubs slowly disappearing down the swanny.
All’s that will be left will be real estate which should take about 5 minutes to sell.
I would have thought these details would have been near the same from when we first went into admin and any new owner would be mulling over future funding.Looks like DW filled the sale with clauses up to the back teeth covenant types clauseshence why it took IEC 12 month. Rugby lease and who and what you can do with the land if sold on. Admin claim there’s 100 of pages covering certain items i.e. the training ground , stadium etc… that’s alot of paper work for sure
Anywhere near 12 month wait and it’s an away day at Daisy Hill for sure next season12 August 2020 at 10:02 am #188733From a journalist?

Fuck the EFL
12 August 2020 at 12:26 pm #188736You don’t need to be Mystic Meg to predict imminent bad news. The whole world knows our team is going to be ripped apart in the next few days.
