GG, i for one would rather settle for mid-table mediocricity this season.

And even that would be better than where we realistically should be. Sadly, half our fanbase actually think we’re a Premier League club.[/quote]
Half our fans had probably been nowhere near the JJB/DW previous to the Premier League.

Unai Emery will be set to leave Arsenal tomorrow seeing as they just lost to Southampton who hadn’t won at home all season.

A bit harsh but there has been too much inconsistency in tactics, team selections etc. Too much swapping and changing and above all some atrociously poor signings.
In fact everything Yootha, Caldwell, McKay and Rosler did and rolled into one.
Injuries havnt been kind at all but not having adequate cover for those injuries is just not good enough. However we need to stick with Cooky through the rough and hopefully we can just stay up.
Just hope we can just survive now

poor selection, tactics everything you say is correct. But we must stick with COOK. I am not impressed with Kipre. hIS distribution skills are non existant. you cannot have Gibson and Morsi in midfield together. morsi in defence in place of Kipre and GIBSON midfield general. I would put kipre up front. you never know he could get some ugly goals.

Bar some rather questionable substitutions/team selections at times, I don’t see how our poor form can be heaped on Cook? He put out our strongest side yesterday (possibly with the omission of Macca) and we still couldn’t win away. It’s individual performances and an inability to score that’s causing us to lose games.

16 shots and only 2 on target yesterday – with those two coming in the 7 minutes added time. Cook only controls the tactics and team selection, he can’t make the players hit the target that’s down to individual effort; which seemed absent yesterday.

Bruise would never settle for us, he would always look to move on, pointless picking him

My worry for Cookie is this, look who is upstairs running things for the owners. What if he feels he can do the job better.

Jesus….how much shit do you have to smell before you realise it’s really is a shit???…..Ipswich can’t win f***all until we roll into town. I forc1think its time for a change…….how long will the smiley clippers put up with this bollocks???….Do you really want league 1 football again???

                Who would you bring in?

How anyone could think our forward line was adequate prior to the season is beyond me. Grigg may have been worth a shot but Vaughan who had guided Sunderland to relegation was always likely to be out of his depth. We don’t score away from home much and now this has spread to our home form.

6 points away from bottom 3 at the half way mark is fine by me given the investment Cook has had at his disposal and it remains to be seen if our new benefactors will invest in the squad. Powell will almost certainly be on his way in January and we will need reinforcements for sure. Cooks constant stubbornness in not playing Callum is absolutely baffling and I cannot for the life of me see why he was signed.

However, to compare him to Joyce and Mcckay is ignorance and he deserves better given results since he took over. We have probably spent one of the least in the division, have amongst the smallest crowds and anywhere near mid table should be considered a massive success given recent form when we have been promoted.

A few things to pick out on this one:

Vaughan didn’t exactly lead Sunderland to relegation. He was only with them for half a season, and to be fair, the general malaise had already set in so as bad as he was for them, I think Messi would have struggled with form there.

But also, Vaughan has scored goals in the Premier League and Championship in the past and other than at Sunderland, is rated a decent striker to have in your squad by fans at all he other clubs he’s played for.

Joe Garner is another player who has scored goals in the Championship – mainly for Preston and Ipswich. He’s not impressed me, but he’s another player fans of previous clubs he’s played for rate.

In fact, the only player you have picked out as probably being good enough for the Championship is Grigg – who has struggled in this league before.

No idea why McManaman isn’t being picked – but Cook sees him on a daily basis at training, and clearly there’s something he doesn’t like.

And like Vaughan, he was with Sunderland when they were relegated, and like Vaughan he’s also not rated by the Sunderland fans.

But according to some of our fans, Cook is wrong in playing one of these players, and wrong by not playing one of them.

                That’s Wiganers for you.

The last thing this club needs is a new manager with all the upheaval that entails. We need stability and continuity and not knee jerk reactions.

I’m not typing this through rose tinted specs as it’s pretty obvious to everybody that we aren’t doing as well as earlier in the season and that away from home we do seem to have a mentality issue.

But, like it or not, it’s no coincidence that we lost all the attacking and creative outlets that meant we scored for fun in the early weeks of the season. Every team would suffer if the whole of their first choice attacking unit was out for weeks/months on end.

Our backup isn’t cutting it because as a club we can’t afford to have expensive and well paid players in reserve.

We have a transfer window starting in a couple of weeks which may or may not freshen things up a bit. We also have the rest of our creativity edging closer to fitness.

Apart from the dimmest of the dim, most of us pencilled this in as a season of consolidation and steadiness. We’re halfway through the season and I reckon most would have taken our league position and points total if they’d been offered it before the Sheffield Wednesday match.

Let’s have a bit of sense and realism.

The club needs a change of direction. Getting rid won’t be a “knee jerk” reaction, it would be based on form and how the players perform that were brought in by the manager.
Bar Powell there’s not one ounce of creativity within the squad as he prefers the “put a shift in” type of player. Grigg will get you goals I’ve always been convinced of that but for that to happen he needs the service something Cook doesn’t seem to think he needs.
In our current freefall form, new owners in place and the January window weeks off there’s no better time to change our manager. I mean, if you took over the club would you back a manager who’s previous buys were nothing more than average work horse players. The money he chose to spend on 4-5 players at a club in transition was basically wasted.

The problem is the Cook suckers on here are sh1t scared of a change, let’s make the change and secure championship football.
I read Jermain Defoe rumour, they should hand him some dvds at the service he’ll get at Wigan. I’m sure once he watches a few and how Grigg struggles off the scraps he’s given he’ll head elsewhere.

In the current form table there are 7 teams below us so how can we be in freefall?

Stop it with the OTT stuff you tart.
